Mrs. Sprinkle's Picture
Mrs. Sprinkle, Los Angeles Age and Occupation: 26, Preschool Teacher Fiance's Age and Occupation: 30, Television Production/Writer Engagement Date: December 24, 2008 Wedding Date: September 2009 Venue: The Marvimon House About Me: I'm a Bay Area native trying to create a life for myself (and my fiance, and our three cats!) in the vast city of Los Angeles. I love vegan red velvet cupcakes, pilates ,and mid-century furniture. Mr. Sprinkle and I met when my band toured through his city (we bonded over cake and a mutual love of Morrissey) and we are getting married on the four year anniversary of our first date. When I am not teaching preschool (or blogging!) you can find me perfecting recipes, petting kittens, hiking in Griffith Park, and overusing exclamation points. We are planning a vegan, green-as-possible, DIY wedding, and I couldn't be more excited to share all of the details!
About Mrs. Sprinkle

Do you know how hard it is to find cute vegan shoes?

Really, realllly hard.

I dream of: kitten heel, toe, mustard yellow or seafoam green shoes for under $200. Is that too much to ask?

The top contenders so far:

Words and Photos: Shoes, Shoes, Shoes! : wedding shoes Sugarpr sugar shoes
Kinda ugly, but in a “totally me” way.
Words and Photos: Shoes, Shoes, Shoes! : wedding shoes 5400 1 mod cloth
Probably too casual, not the right yellow.

Words and Photos: Shoes, Shoes, Shoes! : wedding shoes 5399 1 mod cloth
Heel is too clunky. Red is my last resort color.

None of these shoes are “perfect” but they are the best I can find so far.

I am in the Bay Area visiting my mom this weekend and we are about to head out to try on some shoes. I am very doubtful that we will find anything, but it will be nice to get an idea of how different styles look, and then do some more online searching when we get home. If all else fails, I am walking down that aisle barefoot. I have enough hippie spirit in me to pull that off!

Is there a certain accessory you are having a hard time finding? Is there an aspect of your outfit that you will not budge on (for example: not wearing leather, or not wearing white) yet now you are having trouble finding that?

Have you thought of espadrilles? Or alpargatas? They’re vegan!
My MOH is looking for vegan shoes like these:

I hear ya! It is frustrating :)

I know it’s your last resort color, but here are some cute red ones with a skinnier heel - faux patent:

I haven’t done a ton of research but I’m sure you can find satin shoes that are vegan and have them dyed. It seems like that might be an awesome option for you because they aren’t leather and you can choose exactly what color you want. Have them sprayed with waterproofing pray and they are awesome! Good Luck!

That first shoe is AWESOMENESS. While it isn’t a peep toe, I think you should totally go for it!

When you’re in San Fransisco, check out the Fluevog store at Haight/Ashbury. They’re great, kinda pricey but I’m pretty sure they’ve got a vegan line.

I’m having a hard time find the right color flip flops (for my wedding shoes). If you can imagine that. I bought the perfect pair only to find out they are a little too snug even after trying to break them in. I should’ve listened to all the reviews on Zappos. D’oh! I haven’t given up yet but I’m starting to think I may not get my dream wedding flip flops

Ha! Red Jimmy Choos. WAY out of budget. And can’t find a red pair I like, thus far.

Cute, synthetic mustard peeps (but with a high heel)!

Also like these - not peep, but cheap (& cute!)!

It is now my mission to find mustard, vegan shoes for you :)

I”m actually having a problem finding my shoes as well. I have no input because I’d have no idea where to even look for vegan shoes, but I wish you luck!

Bluefly sells Natalie Portman’s Te Casa line but they seem more like office-wear shoes to me.

Wow, sorry for the awful links! They still work if you copy and paste though.

I’d also second finding a satin pair (w/ a non-leather sole) and dying them that perfect mustard color. I feel like there so many more dyable choices out there than vegan leather-like shoes.
these aren’t bad:

I love that first pair, I think you should get those!!!! It took me forever to find the right shade of blue shoe, but I did and now I’m itching for my big day to come so I can start sporting them at work once the weddings over!!
