I am so excited to share photos with you from one of my past events. The week I made these desserts was one of the busiest yet for my business, and by the end I was physically aching but it was all worth it. Let’s get onto the desserts! Hopefully, this will give you some inspiration for your own events.
So, I received an order for 1,000 mini desserts for my church’s leadership and launch party. The fun part about this menu is they left the choices up to me, so I got to try a couple new dessert ideas and play around with fun presentation ideas. Overall the party went really great, but as I said earlier…I was so happy when it was all over. Here are some photos of the goodies!

Our photographer isn’t the best at updating her blog – but when she does, I absolutely fall in love all over again. Check out some shots from her latest wedding:

Here we are a little over three months out and it has finally happened. After planning for months and months I have finally hit a full blown wedding roadblock. I have heard of it happening to brides before—when you get to the point where the planning has taken on a life of its own, and the to do list is so long it’s flat out overwhelming.

And that’s exactly where I am.

Last December we made a trip to one of the more wonderful places in my country, PATAGONIA!! (woo hoo!)
It was an amazing trip. We hiked as much as we could during the time we spent in the park. And on our way back from the highest point to see the “Torres del Paine”, we found this very old tree - dead and laying on the ground with small pieces all around. I thought to myself, “Yeahh! Carving material!” (I really like to make figures out of wood.) So I picked up two small pieces while thinking about carving something special, so that Mr. Poodle and I could each have one and remember how awesome this trip was.

“Make an elegant invitation statement without the fuss. Stylish invitation sets with matching envelopes, reception and response cards included.”
My bridesmaids are on the hunt for dresses! Early on I decided to have my ’maids choose their own dresses in various shades of the same color after seeing this image (above). I did this for many reasons, but most importantly I wanted them to wear a dress they loved, at a price they were comfortable with. Putting the swatch pile to good use, I sent snips of my favorite reds to them along with a few style guidelines using a Martha Stewart template. I also sent an email with a few suggestions to get them started.

I’m not talking about my wedding ring, nor am I talking about Mr. Beagle’s ring (both of which I will blog about soon!). And no, I have never been engaged or married before.
I’m talking about the other ring… my stunt double ring, if you will.
Let me explain. My engagement ring and wedding ring are more or less a set. Even though they weren’t sold as a set, they match nicely and look great together. The problem I have is that, although I love them, there are certain places and situations where I don’t want to where them. As beautiful as they are, I would hate to hurt them, or worse, endanger their lives. While I work in an office most days, there are times when I am required to be “in the field”. The “field” is not a place where I want my precious jewelry going, so I decided to invest in another ring.
Now, I know it may sound ridiculous and even frivolous to have three rings, but I am certain they will equally get the love and attention they deserve. I suppose that I could just remove my rings when I know I’ll be in situations where my hands might get dirty. However, I am horrible with losing things and I’m scared that continually taking my rings off might lead to that. I have also gotten so used to wearing my engagement ring over the past year (which is really weird because I never wore rings at all before our engagement), that I feel really odd when I don’t have it on. If I’m missing it, I often look at my left hand and freak out for a second until I remember not putting it on.

I’ve been gone a while - we’re waiting for the pro shots to come in. I promise to post recaps soon (like you care, but I’m just saying). I’m so uninspired these days. But when I saw these images on one of my favorite blogs, Little Winter Bride (all images by LWB), oh myyyy, I couldn’t take my eyes off of this beautiful Italian wedding!
It made me (almost!) want a do-over. Oh the beautiful vintage-y, indie simplicity. I’m so inspired now!
We honeymooned in northern Italy - perhaps that’s why I’m so captivated by this bride and her Milanese affair. It makes me yearn for that la dolce vita; that making of sweet, sophisticated things out of simplicity. (Of course the Italians don’t have the exclusive rights to this sort of lifestyle - it’s just they seem to do it so well!)
Check it out:
No veil or long dress - just a lovely wrist corsage, a tea-length swing dress, cool head-piece, and an AMAZING black lace capelet. So beautiful!
I feel like this is how our single friends see us.
From what I hear, it’s pretty common for engaged couples and newlyweds of all ages and persuasions to have a hard time continuing to relate to their single, unmarried friends. I never really understood how that could be until it started happening to me, and then it suddenly started to make a lot of sense how it could happen to anyone.
One thing that I think is different for young-ish couples, though, is the proportion of single, unmarried friends that you’re likely to have and how weird or unnatural they think it is for you to be taking the next step. Let me explain.

For many long months before our actual engagement, Mr. Sprinkle and I talked about marriage. What it means to us, how it would change our relationship, and if it was something we wanted to tackle. Obviously we came to a decision on that one! But for all of those days and weeks I had many hours to daydream about OPW, aka, OUR PERFECT WEDDING. Being a preschool teacher, I have a lot of time to daydream at work while the kids are napping!
Early in the fall, my pilates partner mentioned she had attended an amazing wedding in downtown LA. It was a unique loft space with an indoor/outdoor feel. I looked up the venue, bookmarked it, showed it to Mr. S and tried not to think about it too much, as it seemed a tad on the way-too-expensive side.
All this boils down to is that, when the engagement happened, I was prepared. I had read the blogs, the message boards, the journals. And I knew what I wanted! Basically: a local venue (very important), that would let us bring in our own food/drinks (not budging on this one), that had space for a ceremony and reception (I wouldn’t want to drive in between the two), and that had an indoor space and an outdoor area. As much as I love woodsy places, I really wanted to go as local as possible, and east LA isn’t exactly known for its woods (or IS it?).

I’d been looking for a classy (but not too flashy) bracelet to fit my budget and match the rest of my accessories. In my last post, I’d narrowed it down to a few options, and you all were great about providing your opinions to me!
From my post and the style of my other jewelry, you probably guessed which one I favored most:

Mr Frenchie has known since our first date that I am not a HUGE fan of Chinese Food. I’m surprised we went out again because Chinese is his favorite, especially Chinese buffets.
Mr Frenchie’s dream! (Source)
Since I’m not an evil French Bulldog, I do go to Chinese with Mr Frenchie occasionally. However, I’m also not a dumb French Bulldog either, so we made a deal to switch off between sushi (my favorite) and Chinese. Currently, we’re on sushi, because Mr Frenchie foolishly suggested Pick-Up Stix for dinner last night. HA! That means I get to squeeze in one more sushi dinner before our rehearsal dinner.
Yep, that’s right, I agreed to have Chinese food for our rehearsal dinner.

The morning of our wedding was so relaxing, I completely lost track of time. By the time I had finished showering and drying my hair, our photographer was waiting downstairs while the bridesmaids got ready. I heard a knock on our door, followed by a few squeals from the girls - Champ’s gift for me had arrived! I quickly grabbed my gift and card for him, and had my MOH head across the hall where he was getting ready.
Finding a gift for a groom who has everything was tough, so I took an idea from my fellow bee Mrs. Tiramisu. Anne Holman is a designer on Etsy, and her vintage custom map cuff links were the perfect gift for Champ. What would I do without the inspiration from Weddingbee? Surrriously.

This is one of my favorite pictures of us from Mr. Poodle’s last visit to Chile. We were in Cerro San Cristóbal in Santiago. But I hate the way my arm looks holding the camera, the bump on my forehead, and my hair too.
Well yeah, I like lots of things about this picture, but when it came to me, I hated it! So what better way to fix everything I don’t like than drawing a NEW picture.
Using the upper image as my base, I illustrated us first by drawing, then using Adobe Illustrator. I did this because I wanted to send Mr. Poodle a cool gift. I used his favorite color as the background and printed a poster that I sent to him later.
Then I started playing with a vector and thought that it could be cool to use for our wedding website.
