Mrs. Star's Picture
Mrs. Star, New York City Age and Occupation: 22, Actress Fiance's Age and Occupation: 24, Casting Assistant Wedding Date: October 2009 Venue: Ceremony: The Kraine Theatre, Reception: Midtown Loft & Terrace About Me: I’m a professional actress who’s always had New York City in her blood and I'm finally getting the chance to make a home in Manhattan with my fiancé, my dog, and my big dreams! I love polka dots, craft projects, Dunkin’ Donuts’ iced coffee, and anything sparkly. I’m having a blast planning our elegant/dramatic/New York City/acting-themed/largely-DIY wedding and am thrilled to be the youngest current Miss Blogger!
About Mrs. Star

I’m absolutely thrilled with how our Manhattan/polka dotted/theatrical wedding is shaping up, but photographs like this almost make me second-guess:

If Money/Time/Convenience/Travel/Family Grumbling Were No Object... : wedding venues Chateau

My dream way back before Mr. Star and I even started dating was to get married in this chateau, Le Chateau Chambord. My MOH and I visited the castle on our whirlwind three-week tour of France during college and it has always enchanted me. They do hold weddings there, but I fear to inquire about the cost.

I almost went ahead with trying to plan a small, destination wedding there way back when we first got engaged.

Can you imagine floral arrangements overstuffed with peonies and chandeliers glittering above the dance floor? Oh, I can. I even think my dress would still work at that wedding. That’s the wedding I had first imagined, but I think our wedding is going to be so much more us. Mr. Star would humor me no matter what I wanted to do, but I know he would feel out of place in the middle of nowhere France getting married in a chateau.

What really killed it for me is how few of “our people” (as Miss Cheese would say) would be able to make it to a wedding like that. I don’t regret for a second the wedding that we’ve planned, but I still sigh over the chateau every once in awhile because it would be sooo dreamy to be married there — maybe we can celebrate an anniversary there or something?

What would be different about your wedding plans if money, time, travel, or family grumbling weren’t factors? Anything?

oh that place is so beautiful, i always see it when enjoying the film “impressions de france” at the france pavilion @ Epcot =) Hehe.

If money and all that nonsense was not an issue, we’d definitely be getting married in Hawaii; my dad’s side of the family lives there and I have so many happy memories there, plus FI wants to visit there, so it would have been perfect. Unfortunately, I have a thing called a job (aren’t they pesky), no vacation time, a limited budget and FI’s family is from Iowa and are springing enough as it is to come to our wedding here in FL, where we live.

Le Sigh!

How beautiful! Its a wonderful idea to celebrate an anniversary there!

if all of those factors weren’t in the picture, I’m pretty sure me and my honey would be eloping. The wedding is really a way to include our families, since they would be really hurt and I think we would miss them if they weren’t there. But, truthfully, eloping is much more our style. :)

New Zealand destination wedding–with chartered flights from airports in each of the cities closest to our families and friends. And that’s just to start.

Sarah! How funny… I have the same picturesque idea of a wedding that I wanted to have, but I’ve decided that we would do it to renew our vows in 10 years. I would like a New Zealand “vow renewal” at a “marae” with some charming Maori elements infused into the ceremony and a small reception at a posh restaurant in the city. We’d be super gussied up for the reception and go out for a night on the town.

Not yet, but I think about having the wedding in Colorado from time-to-time (where we got engaged and are moving after the wedding).

There are no words to describe how beautiful that place is. And don’t worry Star! I think we’ve all had the daydreams of if we had a million dollars for our weddings… :)

my fiance and i had originally wanted to rent a huge house on marthas vineyard and stay there for a week with out families and best friends and at the end of them week have a wedding in the back yard. all of us girls could have made a big family style dinner and then have a bonfire on the beach and dance.
I realised though that it would be difficult to plan a destination wedding and there were way too many people i wanted to invite

I’ve been there!! It truly is the most breathtaking place I’ve ever been. And walking down the long path to get there, I was also thinking it would be a perfect place to get married!!

I know what you mean… Chateau Chenonceau owns my heart. W/ all the wedding drama my friends are going through… I’m about 99% sure I’ll do a destination wedding now, but not sure where. I want some people to be there… so not too far.

I love Chambord, it is one of my favorite chateaus in the Val de Loire and you are correct - it would make a wonderful majestic romantic wedding. Maybe you two can celebrate an anniversary there… and I second Mrspaetz, I love the staircase!

Thankfully my fiance and I live in Florida so our wedding is already a destination wedding. We’re looking at 3 day weekends so our out of town family can make it in for the big day…

I’d fly all of ‘our people’ to a warm warm beach and be married in my bare feet.
