Rock Paper Scissors Round 2?

August 3rd, 2009 @ 11:32 am by Mrs. D'orsay

Just kidding… I’m too scared I’ll lose again! We’re getting down to the wire here, and we need to submit our first dance (and other) songs. The real trouble is simply deciding the first dance song… everything else has been super easy!

Here are the songs in the running:

Otis Redding - That’s How Strong My Love Is

John Legend - Stay With You

Elbow - One Day Like This

Kings of Leon - Use Somebody

So, hive, what would you (and your mister) pick as your top fave?

I dont like those last two songs at all. They seem hard to dance to and they sound kind of cheesy.

I vote for one of the first two songs… more classic!

I love that Elbow song. It may be hard to dance to, but it’s just so joyful and I think it perfectly captures that feeling of just wanting to throw the curtains wide and shout to the world that you’re in love!

We were going to use that Otis Redding song for our first dance! It definitely gets my vote! It’s one of my all-time favorites. We chose a Randy Newman song called Feels Like Home, but That’s How Strong My Love is was a close second. Good luck1

My sister had Otis Redding and it was the perfect song.

I do love Kings of Leon though … it may be a little harder to dance to.

I love them all…but for some reason I keep coming back to John Legend. The Kings of Leon would make a killer videography soundtrack

I danced to the Rolling Stones version of the Otis Redding song for my father daughter dance.

I love that song and its not too long. Perfect!

Otis Redding all the way. I actually just listened to that song on my way to work this morning! Personally, for me, there’s nothing more romantic that Otis’ voice because it’s truly timeless and heartfelt.

The John Legend song was OUR first dance, so i’m biased. :) I love Otis Redding too. I love, love, love, Kings of Leon - and hubs and I love the song - but I think “Use Somebody” is just too hard to dance too.
