Mrs. Mouse, Austin Age and Occupation: 25, Weddingbee Editor/Attorney Fiance's Age and Occupation: 31, Civil Engineer Engagement Date: December 19, 2007 Wedding Date: September 2009 Venue: Barr Mansion About Me: I just graduated from law school and will be taking the bar, getting married, going on a honeymoon with my guy, and then trying to figure out what I'm going to do with the rest of my life. I was born and raised in a small East Texas town, but I'm no country girl! I'm obsessed with British accents, fantasy (including Harry Potter, of course), and classic rock. My fiance and I consider ourselves both music and beer snobs--but every once in awhile we love to hear a crappy band and drink a cheap brew or two. We're planning an eco-friendly, casual, English garden affair for the end of summer, and we can't wait for it to get here!
About Mrs. Mouse

Thanks for all the input you all gave me on my last shoe post. The vast majority of you voted for the nude, ruffly Steve Maddens. I agree, they’re adorable. However, I’ve decided they are just not right for my wedding. (Don’t worry, though. I’m keeping them, and I plan on getting lots of wear out of them!)

I decided not to go with the Seychelles, either. I love them, too, but they’re not perfect. The fit is a little awkward in the toes, and I’m not sure how the patent leather really fits into my wedding day look.

This past weekend, I started thinking again about this post I read on East Side Bride a few weeks ago. And this rocking photo of a bride wearing a short dress and black shoes.

In the back of my head, I think I’ve been wanting some killer black shoes to go with my short wedding dress for a while.

Cut to this past weekend. The Dude and I are visiting his sister, J Dawg and her boyfriend in Chicago. After grabbing some pizza and beer at Piece in Wicker Park, J Dawg turns to me and asks, “You wanna go look at some really cool shoes that we can’t afford?” Of course, I say yes. So we drag the men to a nearby shoe boutique, and of course J Dawg and I each end up (perhaps a bit drunkenly?) purchasing some really cool shoes that we can’t afford.

So, you, uh… wanna see my wedding shoes?

Outfitting the Feet: Part IV (Final--I Promise!) : wedding shoes Dscn030 The brand is Corso Como, a Brazilian label. The lining is super-thick, which is perfect for standing around all day taking photos and then dancing the night away. I love them. When I put them on, I feel like Audrey Hepburn (minus the eating disorder). Oh, and did I mention: I’m wearing black wedding shoes!

Thanks, hive, for helping me realize that I hadn’t found the perfect shoes yet. And thanks for sticking with me as I changed my mind over and over again.

Oh, and here’s a close-up of my tattoo. This one’s for you, Miss Poodle!

If you can’t tell, it’s a ladybug. I got it when I was 18. (Finally of age!) This tattoo, unlike my other one, has absolutely no significance to me. However, I still think it looks kinda cool with the right shoes.

Would you consider wearing black shoes with your wedding dress?

Cute!!! I love those. I seriously considered black wedding shoes, but then I finally found some neutral ones I liked.

Very cool. I actually considered wearing black shoes with my dress, until my mom freaked out about it. I think those shoes are going to look really cool.

I wanted to wear black shoes desperately as it is one of my favorite colors but it didn’t work out with what I chose to wear ultimately. I think it will look just great with your lovely dress, very classic but also fashion forward. And black shoes always have a place in a woman’s closet!!

The shoes are totally adorable! I can’t wait to see them in action with your dress ;)

OMG!! That tattoo was what I though it was!
I also have ladybugs on me :P Actually 4 on my right shoulder and back, those are aligned like my “carta astral” I think is star chart on English - I totally thought it was a ladybug on your last post - Thank you for the close up :)

hehe maybe I am the only one because I am a tapper - but those totally remind me of character shoes! Slap some taps on those and you are good to go! (I wanted to wear my taps under my dress at the reception for one of the dances, but there was no way I could have tapped in that dress or else I would have!)
They are gong to look fab! way to go!

@kpenn: I thought they were serious dance shoes too. They look like they will be perfect for a night of dancing and otherwise being on your feet and they will def. make a fashion statement, good choice Mouse!

I am planning on wearing blue shoes because really how much wear can you get out of white shoes?? I figure if I am only wearing the dress once I might as well wear the shoes a ton!

I wanted to wear black shoes SOOOO bad, but everyone hated on me for the idea. Can’t wait to show them your wedding pictures so they can see how fab it is!

I did wear black shoes, and one of my favorite photos is of the mother of the groom scowling at my feet as I walk down the aisle. Deal with it, lady!

Ooh - that’s my favorite brand of shoes! They’re so comfy. Definitely worth the extra cost. I might have to get a pair of these for fall.

Cute shoes! I own a number of pairs of Corso Como because they’re so comfortable. Something to keep in mind - the leather and glue they use isn’t steadfast. When it heats up, the lining *will* slip. It is easily fixable with Gorilla Glue and you might want to wear the shoes until the lining starts peeling up before the wedding so you can glue it back down before you’re dancing all night :-)

I really like your shoes! I voted for your grey shoes, but I wasn’t sold on them either, I love these black shoes, they are perfect on you. Also I had no idea audrey had a eating disorder, makes sense though!
