Subway Love!

August 7th, 2009 @ 5:15 pm by Mrs. Star

Speaking of ways to get around New York City, another mode of transportation we’ll be using on our big day is the subway!

I wrote about our problem-solving parade from the ceremony to the reception way back when I first got picked to be a bee! I’ve got to be honest, though, as our planning continues, I’m getting more and more excited about that part of the day! We’ll be floating on the rush of just having been married and interacting with our nearest and dearest for the first time that day! And oh, the pictures. The pictures! Our photographer has already expressed how excited he is for the subway shots. We’ll get some great pics like this:

I’d love to get a couple of romantic “just us” shots and then get a picture just like that last one, only we’ll be packed in with all of our favorite peeps!

Anyone have any other gorgeous subway shots to share? What are the pictures you’re most looking forward to getting?

That will make for some awesome shots, Star! Thanks to that first photo, I now have “Take the A Train” playing in my head. :o)

@Mrs. Yorkie: Yay! Love that song. There’s a man in Central Park who often plays it on his sax and I swoon. I hum it every time I visit my friend in Inwood who lives right off the A Train, too!

I’ve never been on a subway, but they are so rockin! If I lived in NYC (or any place with subways) I’d totally be on the subway!

Yes! Next to Paris and London, New York is known for its subways. I think it’s a great idea for an engagement pic.

That last picture is from Washington, DC! You can’t trick a New Yorker ;)

We hope to do some shots around NYC (Times Square, Bryant Park, Grand Central) after our afternoon reception- if we do, we’ll take the subway to get there, for some fun subway shots!

I love the idea of riding public trans in your wedding dress! These are such cute pictures. I wonder what it would be like to ride a Septa bus in my gown!! I think the subway is much neater!

@ThePinkSuperhero: Haha. Excuse the Metro pic, there aren’t nearly as many subway wedding pics out there as one might imagine!

those pics are awesome! We wanted to get some subway shots with our e-pics, but somehow never made it down. We aren’t getting married in the city, so we’ll miss it. Can’t wait to see yours, Miss Star!

I don’t think that last one is DC either…DC doesn’t have that ad banner running on the top of their Metro trains. Not to be nitpicky or anything :)

I love these pictures, and I can’t wait to see yours!

I’m getting married in Brooklyn and I haven’t been able to find an affordable bus charter for my guests. I’m thinking about just directing my guests to take the B61 bus from the church to our venue. Maybe I’ll take it too and get some fun shots. ;)

@yelli: Had to go back and check to make sure, but I’m relatively positive that that pic is from Toronto!

@BrooklynBride10: Do it! Make it fun!

@Miss Star: @yelli: that is 100% toronto transit, i’d recognise those red seats on the rocket anywhere…

I love the subway shots! I love the mix of something so traditional as a bride and groom in such a modern/urban setting! I’m in the south, so we don’t have subways, but I’ll have to find something similar!

I don’t have any shots to share, in fact I’ve never been on a subway even, but your pictures are sure to be stunning with such a fun backdrop!

Awww I wish we had subways here too… I can’t wait to see you pictures of how it all pans out… New York is high up on my own list of places to visit.
