Get Your Wedding Wellies Ready…

August 9th, 2009 @ 2:40 pm by Mrs. Gloss

Looks like I’ll get to wear my Wedding Wellies after all, thanks to the latest update to weather.com.

Get Your Wedding Wellies Ready... : wedding reception Rainboo

That’s right – it’s looking like rain, although with the summer we’ve been having here in the North East, I guess I shouldn’t be too surprised.

Get Your Wedding Wellies Ready... : wedding reception Weather weather

When I checked yesterday it was only a 20% chance of rain, so lets hope it blows over quickly!

At least Thursday seems like it will be nice – that is the day they are setting up the tent, so hopefully that area will remain dry!! Gotta look at the positives, people! :)

Will weather influence what you wear on your big day?

At least you’ll get some cool boot photos!

I’m reallllly hoping it doesn’t rain on our day because it would totally ruin our parade!

P.S. I didn’t see that it was 20-30% chances. That’s 70-80% chance you’ll be good! :)

Definitely! I still need to look into my own pair of Wellies — and maybe a cute umbrella to boot!

We are looking for a Florida beach wedding 2 days before Hurricane Season starts! We are nervous but are looking at some good indoor options just in case.

DEF make sure you have cute umbrellas! I was at a wedding in June where it rained and the bridal party did not have them. and it was an outside ceremony…
so many cute photo ops and no umbrellas. just wet hairspray soaked maids.
You are so on the ball you prob already have them just in case. :-)

I had the exact same boots in black! I wore them & wore them until they sprung leaks. :) You’d be surprised at how rainy Chicago can be. Rain will NOT spoil your big day especially w/ your cute accessories! It sprinkled a little on & off (& our wedding was outdoors @ a botanic garden, which is partially tented), but our cocktail hour was dry & outside–perfect. The rain mostly stayed away, & at the stroke of midnight when our reception ended, it was like God overturned a million buckets of rain, & it poured!

I found noaa.com to be a much better predictor of the weather, but they only do 5 or 7 days in advance. But that said, I love the idea of wearing wellies under your dress, so cute!!

Rain or shine, your wedding will be gorgeous! I’m crossing my fingers for you that it’s dry and beautiful, though!

These boots are so cute! I once covered a small/ casual outdoors wedding where the bride was planning to hand out umbrellas in case it rained. Her umbrella and the groom’s were going to be very cute and would stand out. We both planned for it and thought it would make very cool pictures… it didn’t rain in the end. Best of luck! I am sure it is going to be great!

I know… enough already this has been the rainiest NH summer EVER!!!
The umbrella photos are always great, and if it does rain… It will not be all day, I’m sure you’ll have some great weather for the boat! (I HOPE!!)

I hope the rain will hold off for you! But if it should rain, remember it makes for good look and breathtaking pictures (think you two kissing under a oversized black umbrella)!!!

We have an old family tradition that requires rain on your wedding day. Collect those lucky raindrops and keep them tucked away in a bottle to use for baptismal waters when you baptise your first baby! Not sure if you are having kids or having them baptised but it’s a nice tradition to turn a rainy day into something positive. We ended up with an entire 2 liter soda bottle full of these special raindrops!

I hope the chance of rain holds off for you. At least you’re planning ahead. The rain would impact our plans, but I’m sure we can figure out something.
