About Mrs. French Bulldog

Perfect and Simple

August 9th, 2009 @ 4:00 pm by Mrs. French Bulldog

‘Perfect’ and ’simple’ are the two words I would use to describe my wedding band.

I had a hard time finding the perfect wedding band to match the gorgeous ring Mr Frenchie gave me when he proposed. James Allen has a band that matches the ring perfectly, but it just wasn’t my style. I found it to be too blingy and I thought all the little diamonds overshadowed the beautiful center stone Mr Frenchie looked so hard to find.

I toyed with the idea of having just a plain white gold band, but I really wanted a little bit of bling on my wedding band. Elsa Peretti makes a ring for Tiffany & Co., that is a simple band with a single tiny diamond set inside.Perfect and Simple : wedding rings Eptiff

Mr Frenchie and I went to Tiffany & Co. one day to check out the ring, but unfortunately it only came in platinum or sterling silver. I really wanted my rings to be from the same metals so they would age similarly, so that was out.

I searched around Blue Nile, Robins Bros etc and got so discouraged I pretty much gave up for a while. Until Miss Stiletto blogged about Michael C. Fina and I saw this ring.

It was perfect, simple, yet still had some bling. I had to have it. Since this band was not available for online sale I decided to try and find the ring somewhere else.

Where did I turn, but to Etsy, of course. Searching around Etsy, I came across seller singleBbeautiful. I fell in love with having a custom ring and loved that she used recycled metals and only conflict free diamonds. Justine had this ring in her shop for just the right price, so I emailed her.

I made sure that I could get the ring in my odd 6.75 size, that the width of the ring wouldn’t be bigger than my engagement ring’s, and that it would be made in white gold. Justine got back to me right away and answered all my questions. I bought/ordered the ring the same day I discovered it.

Yesterday when I got home, my ring had arrived. YAY! Of course, I had to try it on to make sure it fit (and take pictures for all of you)!

In the box… I’m going to miss that bedspread when I move in with Mr Frenchie

On my finger - I’m going to leave the better pictures to the pros. I even wore it when I went to pick up our dinner at Pick Up Stix because I knew I would have to part with it as soon as I saw Mr. Frenchie.

Perfect and Simple : wedding rings Pickups For now my ring is safely with Mr Frenchie in our new apartment… so I can visit it when he’s in the bathroom, I guess.

Did your engagement ring make finding your wedding band difficult?

my e-ring is set very low so there was a big gap with a lot of the wedding bands i tried. i finally found one that was very flat so that it fit well under / next to the diamond setting

Very pretty! Just picked up mine today — it doesn’t match the e-ring setting perfectly, but I looove it!

Ooh lovely! I love this band (obvs. since I blogged about it!) but when I finally tried it on after months of drooling over it, it just didn’t look right with my e-ring. Looks fabulous with yours, though, I’m so jealous!!

Love your ring! T&Co actually have a similar ring. I might get the 1 diamond ring from there as a stacking ring. I have a heart shaped ring from T&CO Hearts collection & no band would fit under it. I kinda had my eye either on a channel set 1/2 eternity band or the ring you got! But alas, sentimentality got the best of me. My husband wears my father’s, so I figured it would be nice to wear my mother’s (a very simple thin yellow gold band with a small white gold overlay in the front). Plus it came w/ the added bonus of my mom’s beautiful e-ring. I just moved my e-ring to my right hand. I may upgrade (and wear 3 rings on my left hand!) to the eternity on our 5 yr anniversary.

i’m sorry, i dont like the wedding band. i think it would have been better with the first picture..even though it’s too blingy. you could get smaller diamonds then, you know? or you should go with a thin plain white gold band perhaps? ps-love the e-ring!

Haha, YES. My ring is like Miss MJ’s ring, so I either had to choose a band that curves around my ering (I did NOT want that) or….?? Yeah, I had no idea what to look for. Miss. MJ gave me some ideas, so I ended up with something similar to the first pic you posted. But I haven’t paid for it yet….so I’m off to look at the etsy site!

Not at all. I am grateful for that :) I have a round solitare e-ring and I am going to have a simple platinum band on top and a prong set round diamond band on the bottom. I can’t wait to wear it all together!

I think your ring is great, it goes together in your own simple & unique way. Does anyone have some good places to go for bands? I want a simple band to match my sapphire engagement ring set in a thin white gold ring. I really love supporting local stores but we’re also on a budget, anyone have any good online finds?
Thanks!

I have two of those Elsa Peretti rings (one in platinum with a diamond, and one in sterling silver with an emerald) that I wear stacked every day, and I just love them, but they are forever spinning so it looks like two plain bands, and you don’t get to see the pretty stones. I think your band is beautiful with your ring.

My fiance actually bought them both at the same time as a set. (He bought it on Ebay!) I love both rings, and I think they compliment each other perfectly. It’s kinda nice b/c I didn’t have to pick out my own. :)

But your rings look great!!

@Dee: Thank you for you honestly :) But, this is perfect for me… to each her own I guess.
