I just found out that my FMIL is giving me a special wedding gift: a room at the absolutely stunning Mansion on Forsyth Park the night before the wedding!
She caught wind of the fact that I was scouting out a pretty place for my “getting ready” shots from FSIL. The two then began scheming behind my back and after some research, chose the iconic Savannah hotel. When they told me of their plan, I was beyond ecstatic! There would be no way I could afford a night at the hotel, so I was extremely grateful. Just look at how gorgeous this place is!
I’m sure I’ll have some amazing shots that day! It’ll also be just a stone’s throw away from the most famous park in Savannah and where the mansion gets its namesake:

Wow, it’s so beautiful and perfect for the theme of your wedding! I’m just going to be getting ready at my house. The Dude and I will probably be staying together in our own bed the night before, and then I’ll make him leave the next day so the girls can get ready.
You’re so lucky! I love the Mansion on Forsyth and have always wanted to stay there! I can’t wait to see those pictures on your recaps.

that’s gorgeous!! how awesome! i was originally going to stay at a historic hotel (so we could get great first look pix around the hotel if weather wasn’t cooperating) but am now staying at the same hotel as my family instead - so i can be near them when i get dressed

I didn’t stay somewhere nicer for photos, but I did clean the room early on wedding morning so that the photos would be clean and not cluttered. I’m a freak, what can I say.

Oh I LOVE that hotel! You’re photos will look amazing no doubt about it - - the hotel is incredible and you’re totally hot! I actually have been swooning over that hotel since I came across it on the kiwi list! Have fun!!!

What a considerate family you are marrying in to. That was so sweet and kind of them! The hotel is simply beautiful, can’t wait to see the pictures.
I LOVE THAT HOTEL!!!! It is the best in Savannah I swear! If you have a chance…not during wedding time of course, but maybe later…you should totally take a cooking class from Chef Darren. He has his own school in the basement, it was so fun! Have a great time, what a sweaty Mr. Lab is!
We are staying there for our honeymoon. We saw it online and fell in love with it. It is one of the main reasons we chose Savannah as our destination.

I visited that fountain and park on my spring break in ‘07! it’s a lovely place.
That suite is amazing you will get some great shots and have so much room to primp and relax!

I booked our block of hotel rooms based almost exclusively on the decor *sheepish*. I want amazing getting ready shots! : )
It is beautiful!!! We got ready at a room in our venue. It was very spacious, but not so pretty.
@LatteLove: Did you happen to go around St. Patty’s? I’ve been to Savannah twice now for spring break and it always coincides with the holiday, so we got to see the river and fountains dyed green! I heard they quit doing it though because it stains the statues.

The main reason I’m getting ready at the Inn across the street from the winery is for prettier pictures The winery is pretty, but the bridal room is nothing special.
It REALLY is gorgeous! Don’t forget to check-out the amazing restaurant 700 Drayton. Its interiors are to-die-for!
Omg, I always want to stay there when we go to Savannah, lucky ducky!!! That will be a goregous location for pictures.
We did eat lunch there and it was so yummy and pretty. I loved it!
The thought of were I would sleep the night before has crossed my mind. I don’t live with my FI, so I am not going to be with him the night before. I don’t live with my parents, so I don’t think I’d be comfortable staying in the vacation rental they’re getting. So, where should I go? Solution: find a nice place like yours!
