Saving Our Seats

August 10th, 2009 @ 4:34 pm by Mrs. Mascara

Obviously, there is no question as to where the bride and groom sit at their own reception. Whether at the head table or a sweetheart table, either way, the newly married couple usually know where they should sit, and no honorable wedding guest would dare take those seats. Are the little signs we see designating the chairs for the happy couple unnecessary? Probably. But are they super cute and just begging for a photo op? Most definitely!

I took a cue from a few of my favorite detail shots and made our own “Mr.” and “Mrs.” signs to tie on to our chairs.

Note: This was pre-prioritizing. I was counting down the months at this point, not days!

I think we’ll also put our Goose Grease cake toppers at our places, just in case we forget where we’ll be sitting (or maybe just because they are adorable).

Those signs are really adorable! We didn’t designate our seats, other than our name cards, mostly because our table faced all the other guests. No one would have been able to see the cute name tags because they were facing the windows!

we weren’t going to do anything….but then a crafty friend started making these adorable silhouettes…so now we have lime green ones, on damask paper in black frames with “mrs” under mine and “mr” under his!

So cute! And hopefully just enough inspiration for me to get my act together and make my own mr. and mrs. signs! :)

Very cute! I actually don’t think we’ll be using any. Our dinner seating is sorta “in the round” — I should blog about that, huh? — so most guests wouldn’t be able to see these anyway.

Those are so cute! But our chairs are too ugly to bring any attention to them and I refuse to spend money on chair covers! :)

Too cute! And for the record, I think seat markers are completely necessary for the bride and groom! lol

Very cute!

I love the peg cake toppers. They were an extravagant detail that I did not allow myself. :(

Love the Mrs. & Ms. signs! It seems like a perfect DIY project that can really shine.
Thanks for the post, this is something I’d never have thought about.

I made signs similar to Mrs. Cupcakes, no one took a picture of them and my doc never put them away for me to pick them up the next day. So I have no proof of them at all. I was so bummed. I guess it was one of those details no one noticed except for me!

I definitely used the “mr.” and “mrs.” picture you posted as inspiration, too! We did the exact same thing, only in our own colors.

So cute!

Your signs are cute. I’ve actually been brainstorming about this today. Our signs will be similar to the first picture you posted.

I love Mr. & Mrs. signs! I wish we had done them. Not because we needed them, mind you, but because they’re cute and make for pretty pictures :) You know, the important things!

Your seat signs are so cute!! I’m definitely going to whip out a couple of those while I’ve still got so much time to do things =]
And your little bride and groom are adorable!

I love the little toppers! I think we will have signs but not sure yet exactly what I am going to do for them.

These are on my list! Silly, yes, but like you said a great photo! I haven’t figured out just how to attach them to the chivari chairs though, will you just knot your long ribbons at the bottom?

If I have time, I am definitely making those :) Yours are really pretty!
I also have a bride and groom cake topper (extra one) that I’m putting on our table… now that I know you’re thinking about it too, I don’t think I’m crazy anymore - THANKS!

we had a sweetheart table, and our friends made a very pretty Just Married sign (the one with the circle templates provided by Martha), and we used a curtain rod + sheer white tulle drapes from Ikea to create a backdrop — we were sitting by a bench.

cost us no more than $10 but looked so pretty! :D
