About Mrs. Mascara

I Have a Handover.

August 11th, 2009 @ 2:01 pm by Mrs. Mascara

handover (n.) 1. Unpleasant physical effects, usually affecting the hands, following the heavy use of a corner rounder to make wedding programs or other stationery.

I Have a Handover. : wedding diy stationery Program05

After rounding 3,000 corners this weekend (with the help of two lovely bridesmaids), you could say that I have a handover.

My palms are so sore, and I know the other girls feel the same! I wouldn’t be surprised if actual bruises form within the next few days. But as far as I’m concerned, it was worth it! I won’t be showing you the final product until after the wedding, but here’s a sneak peek at the little works of art we created to house the details of our wedding ceremony.

I Have a Handover. : wedding diy stationery Program06

They’re not quite finished yet (I need to add some final touches, including our names!), but at least the corner rounding and handovers are out of the way! I had to retire two corner rounder punches after this project!

Did anyone else experience soreness after finishing a wedding project? Working out doesn’t count for this one. :)

OH YES! I upgraded to the Friskers corner rounder after my first ‘handover’. So much gentler on the hands!

Oh, round corners. Why must you be so lovely yet so oddly labor intensive?

I’m so glad Mr. MJ rounded the corners on our stuff for me! I would have had a handover for SURE.

Oh man…the tiny hole puncher we used for the programs and invites. That was a handover (not to mention hole-y mess)…sorry about the pun!

I can’t wait to see it all! You are so creative!

Oh, I made my palms bleed beneath the surface punching that little hole border design on my invites — eek!

Handover… hehe (so clever btw). I have sustained some serious handover as well. Those little paper cutters can really tone up the upper arms. I think I’ll have to alternate hands or risk looking lopsided.

And the scariest part is the fact that the bulk of the wedding projects are still to come eeek!

Oh my gosh, we used a lace corner punch on our invites and I had no idea how hard punching gets! My whole arm got sore from all of that punching!! And I only did 500.

i did get bruises on my thumb from the corner rounder. but i’ll be damned if that hasn’t been the cheapest yet most useful element in everything we’ve done.
i can’t even count how many corners were rounded… i don’t want to know. i’m just shocked the thing is still sharp enough to cut more!
keep it up, round corners make everything prettier : )

Those look promising…can’t wait to see the whole thing!!! I’ve decided most of my stuff looks better unrounded thankfully…but I’m sure I’ll need to do it for some things and I’m kind of dreading it!

I border punched two sides of my invites. And I am so thankful we only sent out 50! I came *this* close to round the corners on the invites but changed my mind at the last minute. So glad I did.

Ooh that sneak peek has me intrigued. But this adds to my dilemna, to round or not to round?
