Ya Mon! Strike a Pose: The Wedding Party

August 12th, 2009 @ 9:22 am by Mrs. Quiche

This week in the Quiche recaps - portraits! Sorry for the boring-to-everyone-else-but-me posts, but I have to say that I LOVE portraits. :) In the age of photojournalism style wedding photography (which I absolutely love as well!), the fact we were able to get the best of both worlds with Ashley made me happy.

First up, our awesome wedding party. We are so lucky to have such amazing friends that traveled all the way to Jamaica to stand by us on our wedding day. I couldn’t imagine saying “I do” without these people by our sides. They love and support our marriage 110% and will always be there for us. Can you feel the love?

Why my arm tends to be in the air in so many pictures, I will never know…

4

Behind the scenes shot that I love!

The boys then gathered on the altar for a group shot. What a great looking bunch of guys!

5

6

Mr. Quiche & his best man

7

With GM B-Fresh

It was hard for to get a picture of just the girls together! Mr. Quiche kept joining in! Oh well, I guess we’ll let him. It was his wedding, after all ;) and he loves my girls!

8

9

Finally. :) Even if it is a Blue Steel shot (you may have noticed that I tend to shout this out quite often. I am working on it, as it isn’t a good look for me at all!).

10

While we were posing and looking pretty, the boys were kind enough to do some action shot testing for us.

11

DJ Nilly gets some serious air!

12

Okay, I lied. This was actually their idea and their “thing”, which I insisted on being a part of.

Attempt # 1 - good, but not great. We’re just warming up!

13

Attempt # 2 - karate time!

14

This picture is my favorite of all, and became our thank you card!

15

Okay, one more behind-the-scenes shot - I love these!

16

And there you have it - Part 1 of 3 portrait posts! Thanks for sticking with me. :)

What about you? Do you like a mix of posed portrait shots and candids?

All pictures by Ashley Colhouer.

Great Pics! I have to ask where you got the little girls dresses (the black and white ones) they are so pretty!
I wonder if I could get them with a different color such as red instead of the black?

I love that in the bridesmaids’ shots, one of your bridesmaids has a Corona in her hand instead of her bouquet. Awesome. :)

I love that jumping photo that you used on your TY cards. So cute and fun. You really can tell what a great time everyone is having!

I really liked that we had a mixture of posed photos and candids from our wedding. One of my favorite photos is from when we were walking across a street (to get from our venue to the main photo location). The bridal party is talking and laughing and it’s a good action shot.

@august15bride: Awesome. I didn’t even notice that! I did notice, however, in the group shots…at least one GM has a Red Stripe in each picture. :)

@Firegirl: They are from Gap Kids & are Ivory & Navy. I don’t think they had them in any other color, unfortunately!

I don’t think the jumping counts as a posed picture… although if anyone can figure out how to pose me mid-air so I don’t look like a cat falling out of an airplane, let me know.

portraits become totally fun when you throw in all the ‘extras’ and ‘outtakes’!

You all look like you’re having a blast!

This is one thing I regret…the funny shoots. :( Really wish I would have remembered to get some fun shots.

Some you guys really got some air!

We also did do a mix of shots, it was really important to me to have some of the formal, especially for the parents and grandmas. The only bad thing was the only fun shots were took were just a couple with the bridal party and that was it :(

Great pics–not boring! You are so statuesque-you really stand out in the pics. I feel like I got lost in some of the portraits being such a shorty! The tallest BM HAS to be your sister, non?
