Love, Sweet Love: The Walk

August 13th, 2009 @ 3:11 pm by Mrs. Powder Puff

OK, so I know I said that bridal party portraits would be next, but I’m just too excited to share our ceremony with you! So I thought we’d take a break from our regularly scheduled programming to skip ahead to the ceremony, and talk about the bridal party pictures a little later, mmmkay?

Our photo shenanigans had left my dress a little dirty, so we tried to clean it up before the walk down the aisle.

My fabulous aunt, helping me spot clean my dress.

After the dress was as clean as it would ever be, it was time to wait.

In my super secret hiding spot.

But hold on one second, waiting gave me time to realize that I was STARVING. Funny how not eating all day will do that to you. So, bless bridesmaid Jamie’s heart, she gave me a box of dried raisins and cranberries, which I immediately stuffed in my face. Not very bridal like, but om nom nom they tasted good!

While stuffing my face, I could hear people arriving, heading out to their seats. My mother kept popping in to let me know that, “Hey! People are actually showing up to this thing!” And I started to get really… dare I say it… nervous.

Finally it was time. My aunt gathered us all up, and my bridesmaids and I began our loooong walk to the aisle.

The boys waited.

And as our song began to play, my girls walked down the aisle.

Side note: Since I am the type of person who really likes to get the whole experience, I’ve included that song for your listening pleasure. So if you really want to get the whole effect, go ahead and press play. My walk down the aisle begins at the 2:40 mark.

Go ahead. Press play. You know you want to!

Finally it was my turn. As my dad and I approached the aisle, he leaned over and
whispered, “You look beautiful. Are you ready?”

Without an ounce of hesitation, I replied, “Yes.” And with that, we walked.

I LOVE the song you used! It worked perfectly! I’m doing the same thing (using one song for my bridesmaids and I) and I hope it works out as well as it did for you! I’m nervous about the timing.

Oh this song makes me bawl. It was the song in Grey’s when Denny died. :( So emotional!

I’m such a dorkus right now. Great great song to pick!

Not quite ready to tie the knot with my beau yet, but love to read about all of the bees and jot down ideas. I LOVE THIS POST. How can you not cry while looking and listening. Great job!
