Shower Style

August 14th, 2009 @ 6:04 pm by Mrs. Sunbeam

I spent so long searching for a shower dress I can’t even find some of them to show you anymore! I had to start the search at my favorite store - Anthropologie, where I came across this little number.Shower Style : wedding dress D02

I wasn’t sold, so I saved it in my “favorites” as a backup. I also did several rounds with Gilt Groupe trying to find the perfect dress, but I was never very good at guessing my size! I had ordered this one in cream, but I couldn’t decide if the cut was flattering, even though I loved the thought of a lacy rehearsal dress, given the fact that my wedding dress is lace.

On a day of random shopping, I found myself in Theory with Mr. Sunbeam. I hardly ever shop there because of their high prices, but I found two dresses I just had to have. One for me and one for a shower or rehearsal! Look familiar??

For those of you that asked, now you know where I found those dresses from my shower/bachelorette post! It’s funny that the first actually turned out to be the dress I wore to my (surprise) shower and the second will make its appearance this weekend, ooorrr perhaps this weekend I’ll wear this other little number I found at Anthropologie two weeks ago.

It’s funny how I found all three dresses when I wasn’t really looking for a shower or rehearsal dinner dress, and that they are white, blue, and white with blue (even though the jean dress was a happenstance shower dress)! Such variety. :)  I’ll be in PA this weekend meeting with vendors, and what did I pack? All three dresses. Hello, hot PA summers.

On that note, please excuse the spotty blogging. I have a lot on my plate this week but will do my best to be active in the hive!

Do you have special shower and rehearsal dinner dresses? Where did you find yours? Did you go for white, or something colorful?

Every single one is adorable — I want them all! I wore a coral colored JCrew eyelet dress for the rehearsal and I loved it. Have fun at your vendor meetings!

PA humidity has been vicious! The thermometer on my toolbar has been in “explode” mode for the past week. It seems like it’s abating, though - hopefully in time for your visit!

They are very cute! Anthro, of course, is always reliable for adorable dresses.

I love the blue & white one! Anthropologie is like CRACK to me - I’m actually physically incapable of walking by it without going in.

All the dresses are lovely, I like the last one the most. I am thinking about getting something colorful and festive my my Mexican Fiesta RD as I’m a black and white monochrome type of girl so should really take the opportunity to spice things up!

So many great dresses! :) For my shower, I wore an old standby (my favorite LBD) because I couldn’t find something I liked. For my RD I wore a white strapless dress with flowers from JCrew.

Oh those are so cute! I LOVE my rehearsal dress, but with how hot PA has been, I’m thinking I may need a cooler dress. Guess I’ll have to find time to shop…

Seriously though, I usually love shopping. Now I’m substituting my shopping time for crafting time!
