This post signifies the start of a few posts about some of the wedding-related surprises I have in store for my beloved. He’s promised not to look, and I guess I can only trust that he won’t.
The first is an engraving for his wedding band. My rings are too thin to be engraved, so this will be our only band to receive an engraving, and it means a lot to me that it is the right one.
I have a few options, each chosen for different reasons:

I love all these songs, and their words all make me smile ’til it hurts. I have no idea which one to choose. The ring is being made from scratch in white gold and is almost finished, so I have to make a decision soon. I’m leaning towards the last, purely because it’s unlikely that anyone else would have it, and we’re HUGE fans (hmm… maybe if I show them my plans to engrave their song lyric, they’ll come and play pro bono for us at the reception? One can dream).
If you engraved anything in your rings, what did they say? And which quote do you like best from the above?

I’m getting my man’s ring engraved, too. It’s going to be a suprise until the day of our wedding. I’m having trouble deciding..!
That last one would be a cute nod to your bee moniker 
I also love the last of the three Beatles ones…and it’s appropriate for a ring!
i love the idea of engraving a lyric into his ring. i would choose the lyric that you feel is most fitting for your relationship. i love the last one, and it’s perfect for miss lightening! ha! but I would go with the quote that 30 years from now, you’ll still smile about! can’t wait to hear what you decide on.
I love the “we’ll keep rolling like thunder” it is so personal and cool!
I think “I want to hold your hand” would be really cute for a ring engraving!
We had been thinking of getting our bands engraved too, but with the claddagh symbol (we’re not Irish, but we love what this means, and I gave him a claddagh ring as a gift a few years ago).
For the quotes, I’d go with the last one, as it is something shared between the two of you, and makes it all the more special.
I definitely like “we’ll keep rolling like thunder,” as it is special to the two of you and no one else will have it!
What unique ideas for engravings - I love them! I’m with Miss Bruschetta on the last Beatles one, because it is about hand-holding, it is oh-so-appropriate for a ring. Also, I think holding hands also is the sweetest display of showing love, caring and affection. But they’re all great, and if you choose the one that speaks to you the most, you can’t go wrong!
I like the last one as well. It’s so unique :o)
I don’t know if engraving is going to fit on my band (it’s really narrow) but we would either get “two against the world” (i can’t remember where we first heard this) or “my love is an anchor tied to you” (from the song ’southern cross’)
I like “we’ll keep rolling like thunder” too. Being a HUGE Beatles fan, I love the idea of Beatles’ lyrics also, but the Dirty Skirts lyric seems cuter.
We got ours engraved with a song lyric too: “Come waste your time with me,” which is one of OUR favorite songs by Phish. (Yes, we’re kinda hippies)

My FI’s ring says “Stand inside your love”. He’s a Smashing Pumpkins fan and that was the song that “spoke” the most about our relationship. He had my ring engraved with his nickname for me, our monogram and our wedding date encoded. 
It’s really nifty.
I like the last one as it seems to be the most personal. When we got ‘cohabitation’ rings the insides of both said ‘exclusive rights’.

I also vote for the local band. I’m sure there are some great memories there!

I think we’ll be getting our rings engraved later, but now that you saw it… my rings may be to little! Bummer.
For his ring, I like “madly and completely”. It’s kind of our thing, just naturally started and stuck, with each word meant to an incredible depth.
At the same time, he’s a musician and from the beginning when I was 18 and he was 21, we’d fall asleep listening to music as the Oregon rain poured on the roof of the little two-story home. It would probably be something from Band of Horses or Iron & Wine, although for him Tom Petty would it.
I love the idea of surprising him. Maybe after one year for our anniversary, that’ll go by fast. After all, we get married in two weeks. Talk about butterflies in the stomach!!!
i love “me and you and you and me” so sweet and simple. i heard a story of a couple who had “a deal’s a deal” engraved on their wedding bands. love that!
LOVE the Beatles quotes.
What about:
him - “all you need is love, love”
you - “love is all you need”
I love the last one - unique and powerful, and very meaningful to you as a couple!
I’m planning on having half Spanish - half English

I’m getting “all my love, all my life” engraved, it’s a family tradition, it’s how his whole family signs cards, emails, etc and it’s how he finished the poem he wrote me when he proposed!! yay for significant engravings
I’d go with your local band choice if you like it best! Of the others, I like “I want to hold your hand” because it’s like you’re holding his hand whenever he wears the ring.
We didn’t engrave ours. Kinda wish I did!
I like the “me and you and you and me” lyric -
since this is the only ring that has an engraving, I like that it refers to not only him but to you too.
plus, whichever way you read it, backwards or forwards, it says the same thing! which is very ring-circle-like to me!
@couturebowl- I also read about the “a deal’s a deal” engraving, and have been tossing it around for the man’s band!
Will all those words fit? We only had room for the date and initials on ours.
I secretly had Mr Frenchie’s ring engraved His says, “Forever & Ever” and our wedding date. “Forever & Ever” is short for something we say to each other and it was also on our invites.
It would be cute if we got our rings secretly engraved! I never thought of that. He can pick something for me and I’d pick for him. Mine would say: “I love love” or “you are my only”. We always tell these to each other.
@Miss French Bulldog: I’m thinking about doing the same thing! Our’s is actually from a movie:
“Will you still love me in the morning?”

There are just too many options!
I think any of the quotes you listed would make a wonderful engraving for his ring. You may want to check with your jeweler to see if there is a letter limit for how long it can be. Depending on how the engraving is done, it may be hard to get a message as long as the last one.
I chose “You & me Me & you” for his ring. Did not realize until I read this it was so close to the song lyric! When we’re feeling especially close, he’ll look in my eyes and say, “Me and you,” and I look back at him and say, “You and me.” I love how the words themselves are circular, matching the shape of the ring.

This reminds me of a time when I was a child and my father was cleaning his woodworking tools. He was working on the router at the time, and foolishly forgot to unplug it. Sure enough, while he was cleaning, he must have accidentally hit the on switch and the router started up. He immediately dropped the router out of surprise, but instead of letting it fall to the ground, he caught it between his third and fourth finger in his left hand. I’m sure you all can imagine the gore . . .(My favorite memory in all of this is that while he was screaming for my mom to bring him a towel - she screamed back - you better not have ruined my countertops! She hadn’t realized he almost severed his fingers. . .) After walking out of the doctor’s office with many, many stitches, he told us that the doctors had said that his wedding ring had saved his hand. He never ever takes it off, and that day it had served much more than its purpose!
we have no engraving (hadn’t really thought about it) but i love “ps i love you” it’s just such a sweet sentiment.
My fiance secretly had the word “forever” engraved on my inside of my engagement ring. I about died - it was so romantic!

I am thinking of doing my nickname for my FI which is boo face because whenever he looked at it he would think of our relationship.
I totally vote for the last one. It’s completely unique, I get the feeling from all of your posts that it fits the two of you the best out of all of the options you listed… And let’s face it, having *ANY* lyric from a band called The Dirty Skirts is hands-down awesome. The band’s called The Dirty Skirts - nothing can quite beat that!!!
My rings can’t be engraved either, so I’m already planning on his engraving. I’ve known for three years what it will be, which is definitely longer than we’ve been engaged! And he has no idea I’m even planning it!!! Such a fun surprise!
I like. PS I love you. Its simple and sweet. I surprised my husband with an engraving. Its a line from our first dance song. Frank Sinatra - Fly Me To the Moon. It says - all i worship and adore.
