My Three Rehearsal Dresses

August 18th, 2009 @ 9:24 am by Miss Chick

Kind of like that ’80s TV show, My Two Dads? But with dresses? And 3? No? OK.

The first dress I’m considering is Marc by Marc Jacobs. I’m thinking of wearing it for our engagement photos:

And look! It was on Gossip Girl! Of course, I got it for much, much less at a sale:

The second dress I’m considering is from French Connection. I plan to wear it when we leave for our honeymoon. It’s got more of a jet-setter style. Maybe I’ll pair it with a white blazer or trench coat (they have AC at the airport!!).

The third dress is a beautiful Badgely Mischka dress I also got at a sale. Methinks it’s a bit too dressy for our rehearsal cocktail hour(s). Where should I wear it to?

Maybe I could add bit of rouching to make it a sweetheart neckline, and perhaps spaghetti straps are in order:

Now that you’re a bride to be, are you more inclined to wear white/off-white dresses to your events, or are you going for more colorful dresses?

wow, beautiful dresses! The Badgely Mischka seems a little dressy for a rehearsal cocktail hour, but then again… it’s your day, so you can do whatever you want! you look amazing in all 3 dresses!

I agree! I was thinking of just wearing the badgely mischka one for engagement photos? I just can’t bring myself to sell it, it’s so beautiful!! Maybe I should buy a mannequin and display it at home. Hahah!

If you shortened that BM dress, it would be perfect for the rehearsal dinner!!

You could shorten the Badgely for the cocktail rehearsal, then it would be perfect! I love all 3 dresses… I just got my engagement party dress, which is mostly white with some pink, yellow and green embroidered flowers on one side…fun!

Love your dresses! I’d opt for color, though, because I know I’d get more wear out of them in the future.

They are alll gorgeous! I love the white for bride-related things! It’s so much fun and just gets the spirit swirling around! The third dress is so gorgeous! I would honestly wear that as a wedding gown, though, so it’s hard for me to say if I would wear it for rehearsal or not …

i love the badgely- if you have dancing at your reception, could you change into that for the dancing part? depends on how formal / heavy your wedding gown is

Love all three of your dresses!
The third dress how about as your evening gown at the end of the night? Hehe. Love that you are thinking about your HM Jetsetting outfit! =)

My favorite is the first dress. It’s very chic! I agree with previous posters, that last dress would make a great reception dress!

chick, i definitely wouldn’t sell it. you’ll always have other events that you can wear that fabulous BM dress to. Black tie weddings, maybe office holiday parties/galas. But shortening it would definitely be a way to make it wearable for the RD. Oh also, I LOVE the french connection dress. it’s so perfect for the jet-setter look!

True, I could wear it as an end of the evening dress! Good idea! At that point I’ll probably need to breath from being in a corset all night!

I love the 3rd one . . . with the slight train. A sweetheart neck would be pretty, but don’t shorten it! You should change into it for your reception.

I would find a reason to wear all three of those dresses - they incredible. I’m partial to the Marc Jacobs number - love the tailored, yet soft, style. Yum!

My favorite is the Marc Jacobs dress! If I were you, I would wear Dress 1 for engagement photos AND rehersal (I like it that much), keep dress 2 for honeymoon departure as planned and wear dress 3 as a reception dress for dancing the night away.

All three look gorgeous by the way! The BM dress is adorable, a little formal but it is *your* rehearsal cocktail so why not? ;)

I love all 3 dresses, but yes the badgely is more as a wedding gown. But as everybody says its your day and you can put whatever you like…

I gotta say #1 is my fav, it’s classic with a twist. I love the details (I tend to think bows and girly details are so appropriate for everything bridal). #2 is classic but more casual and you’re right, it could be your perfect “getaway” dress. I think #3 is too dressy for rehearsal. I’ve also developed an obsession with white/cream dresses now that I’m the bride-to-be.

I really love #2. I like the idea of wearing white all weekend, too! My RD dress was kind of cream/ tan and had a navy design on it.

I’d wear the third one grocery shopping. Just so I know it would be noticed.

Of course, this might also mean a quick trip to the psych ward…but you know, all in the name of beauty and fashion.

These are all so beautiful! I love the second dress… so chic! You could wear the third dress and your grand exit dress? Or for dancing? And I TOTALLY plan on wearing shades of white to all wedding-related events!
