As the final countdown begins I’ve been finishing up some of our final DIY projects. Most recently, I completed personalized hangers for each of my bridesmaids and a “just married” banner for our Mini Cooper (aka, the getaway car).
I purchased the hangers on sale (yay) for R29 a pair ($3.50). They’re a dark gray velvet and softly padded. I made small tags for each bridesmaid and tied them to the hangers with silver ribbon. Each tag was striped like our invites and carried the same crest from our invitations (the crest is a free vector, and I highly recommend sourcing and collecting these as you come across them - I used Adobe Illustrator when working with vectors). I also used the same fonts from the main suite (Rosewood is the carnival font, and Eccentric is the art deco font). I plan to hang all the girls’ dresses up before they arrive on the day to get ready, and I think this will be a sweet little surprise - every girl needs a luxury hanger, right?
Moving on to the banner. I printed flags with different patterns and letters on A4 sheets. I cut everything with the guillotine and punched holes on each corner to feed the silver ribbon through.
And just like that, it’s done! (Mr Lightning kindly modeled the banner for me.)
However, if you’d like to forgo the full DIY, I’d recommend one Martha Stewart’s simple and lovely templates, which you can get here.
Are you surprising your bridesmaids with any little luxurious perks? What are they?
