Recently, as of about six months ago, I met my new technological love. This beauty is attractive, fashion-forward, fits in my party clutch, and is always there when I need her. Friends, meet your new best bud: The Flipcam.
I can’t tell you how handy this lil’ number has been… I’ve broken her out for parties, nights out, everyday life - and perhaps MOST handily, at weddings and while on vacation. I absolutely love my Flipcam! My favorite part about her is that she fits in my purse. We would all love to have a camcorder at the ready for those most special moments in our lives, but… I have no inclination to drag a camcorder around a wedding! Too bulky.
The Flipcams come in many different styles and at all price points, currently, from $149 (the camera I bought!) to $229 for the fanciest, most customizable HD version.
I have to tell you, that $149 that I spent has been worth every penny. I carry it in my purse, right next to my point and shoot camera. There have been so many moments that have snuck up on me, and I was ready to take video to remember the moment by. The quality is outstanding, much better than the video option on my point and shoot - I really can’t say enough good things about it. I am officially raving. (!)
The Flipcam is also an all-in-one device… Wait for it… Wait…
Bing - The cam comes with its own hideaway USB drive! Mrs. Quiche and I most recently used the Flipcam at Mrs. Powder Puff’s wedding, and we were able to create a DVD for her of all the special Powder Puff wedding moments. I really can’t recommend the Flipcam enough. The quality is great; the price is fantastic - you will use it all. the. time.

Actually got this for my FI as his wedding gift - for “behind the scenes” footage!
My mom got me one of these for my birthday, we’re using it to record our first dance and the FOB dance… and maybe the speeches 
Hopefully I remember to bust it out on the honeymoon too.
I’ve been thinking about this for when the baby is born (no, not the actual birth moment. ), I’m really glad to hear it’s great!
I love my Flip cam! One of the Bees posted about groomsmen gifts and the Flip was one of them (was it Stiletto? Sorry, I can’t think. I need my afternoon coffee). I snagged a 30 min Flip for 50 bucks on amazon. I keep it in my purse at all times. It definately has come in handy for hanging out, parties, and weddings.
I got one for my sister to use to capture my adorable niece. It’s awesome. I love that you can set up your own private channel on their website and send updated videos to your mailing list. I will have to ask to borrow it for our honeymoon!
My fiance has this camera and NEVER leave the house w/o it. He LOVES it!!

My sister’s boyfriend brought his Flip to our wedding and posted a vid of our first dance before we even got back from the honeymoon. I cried. It was that awesome.
I love this! I purchased one for our wedding (not a flip but another brand) mainly because I wanted something that held more than an hour.
I forget the brand we purchased but it has an SD card so that way we can keep taping all day long!!
My parents bought me one of these right before i left to study abroad in England last year, and I LOVED it. It fits everywhere and the batteries last for quite some time. I just wish that it was rechargeable. But I could not recommend it more!
I’ve drooled over the Flip forever now… the only thing that has stopped me is the fact I can’t put in a memory card!

Does anybody know if it can be put on a tripod? We’re eloping and I’d like to be able to film our ceremony so we can show it when we get back.
@redbullfanatic: I believe so - mine has a screwhole in the bottom that looks like it’s for a tripod. You can always check with the store or call the Flip customer service line to be sure!
My BF got me one of these for our anniversary and its so much fun to use! Super easy, I just wish I had more things to film!

I love the Flipcam. I bought one for my FI and its super convenient.
My bday is in a few days and I would *really* like a portable iPod dock (like the cute one Roxy makes) so my BMs and I can listen to music wherever we are. Especially that getting ready moment. Wow.
Yay! I just bought two for our friends to pass around at our wedding! Way cheaper than a videographer.
We are supposed to be getting on for FREE from Verizon! They happened to be giving them away when we signed up for tv/phone/internet service for our new house! Can’t wait to get it. The video quality looks great.
this is going to be my favorite new gadget! =) I’m thinking about this as a gift for my groom?? Then we can quickly put it to use for the wedding day and on the honeymoon!!
I love my HDMino . . . I only need to use it more (and wish I had waited about a month to get a customized one). I even have a strap that I can use to attach the mino to my bike helmet. The other neat gadget that my cousin suggested is a Quikpod–it allows you to use any camera to take a photo of yourself by holding the camera in front of you & using a timer or remote.
I have this!! Its so easy to use and small enough to fit into any purse. Only draw back is that it only records upto 60 min.
@berry214: Actually they have a few options! Mine records 120 minutes.
Nice! We’re giving these (way way cheaper versions!!) to our groomsmen…but we’re trying to justify one for ourselves!
