The first look was the part of the day that I was most looking forward to, but in reality, it ended up just being a quick moment for the two of us to reconnect for the day.
I tried to stay calm.
But in reality I was trying not to burst at the seams:
I couldn’t believe I was seeing Mr. Peep dressed up as a groom:
Doesn’t he look handsome?
And Mr. Peep was overwhelmed that I was dressed up to be his bride:
He was totally shocked by the dress (see, I can keep secrets!!).
After a quick spin:
He approved.
And I got all teary eyed, too:
At that point, I realized that my spin had gotten dirt all over my train, so we were off to find the bridal party to bustle it up:
Unfortunately, bustling my dress was quite the task.
Again, it was my Bridal Entourage to the rescue.
Whatever you do, make sure that someone is really paying attention when you go to the bridal salon to learn how to bustle your dress.
While our first look was memorable, there were so many other more memorable parts of the day.
So, I ask you: what part of the day are you most looking forward to? And who are you appointing to bustle your dress??

I love all your recaps! I’m looking forward to “the first look” so much. We just did our engagement photos yesterday so I’m really in the moment now.
I love the first look! I am a crier so I’m a little nervous all my photos from the first look on will be me being a blubbery mess. Luckily you got some nice shots before the tears! Also - note to self .. appoint official bustler and practice!
Oh yeah, my roommate is my personal assistant and she is going to be the bustling queen.

You’re the first person that I’ve read not say their first look was AMAZING! WONDERFUL! etc,
For someone who is on the fence about doing one, would you do it again or did it not live up to its hype? I always only hear gushing things about a first look, so I’m curious to hear your toned down (in a good way) reaction.
Mrs. Peep, I love your recaps! You look STUNNING in every single photo! I esp. love the second photo in B&W with the city buildings in the background - SF is the most romantic city IMO :). Congrats again and keep em coming!
Your first look is amazing. Were you on the roof? Finding the perfect spot for first look photos is key. Love it!
I think I’m most looking forward to the after party, where we can really cut loose with our friends and all the worrying/planning is finally over! Once again, I’m loving your recap posts!
@cfitz621: I loved the first look- and would highly recommend it, but we mainly did it so we could get our pictures done beforehand. As for memorable and moving moments- those were mostly during the Ceremony and sprinkled throughout the day. Looking back, I just don’t think you can plan the most memorable moment of the day.
@mary-alice-me: We were on the 7th floor terrace, which was great.
@Mrs. Peep Toe: Makes sense, thanks. The overwhelming majority seems to be in favor of the first look, but I really appreciate what you said about not planning memorable moments. I think in our desire to make everything “perfect” we forget that we can’t plan everything!

You look great! I am really excited for that moment - the one where you first see FI as the groom. I think the gravity of the what is about to happen will really set in. Ohh so exciting! Oh and I plan on appointing my two future sister-in-laws as bustle-rs!
We are not doing a first look so the moment I am most looking forward to is seeing my FI look up and see me coming down the aisle, just thinking of that makes me wish it was tommorrow not in over a year!!
