And the Winner Is…

this necklace!

And the Winner Is... : wedding jewelry Dscn03607
I realized I didn’t have time to order necklaces online and see which ones worked out, so instead I hit up a local boutique and spotted this cool owl necklace. It’s similar to one of my Etsy inspiration necklaces, so I scooped it up. The cashier was nice enough to find me a longer chain so that it’s compatible with my locket. I like how simple the combo is (the necklaces won’t take away from my dress!), while at the same time it’s a bit quirky.

Please excuse my greasy hair and no makeup. (Who am I kidding, you guys are used to it by now.)

Now the only minor problem is, the original earrings I bought no longer match! I’m thinking of wearing some tiny gold circular studs that I just bought instead. But I need a “something blue”! I’m not wearing a garter, and I don’t really have room for any extra accessories. My shoes are black. What’s a girl to do?

I recently saw a pic (can’t remember where) of a bride who sewed a blue tag into the inside of her dress with her maiden name and wedding date on it. That could be an option for you!

The necklace is very cute!! And you’re right…a bit quirky =]

You could always go the route of the blue rhinestones on the bottom of your shoe. Or if you could find a cute charm to hang off your bouquet.

i like the owl necklace! great choice!

have you thought of wrapping a blue ribbon around your bouquet? or a blue pin? you can always have something blue stiched into your dress somewhere. and there’s always blue undergarmets!

How about a strategically placed temp tatoo (with some blue); or just paint one pinky toe nail blue.

I adore the owl. So fun!

I’ve seen photos of brides who place stick-on rhinestones on the bottoms of their shoes. Could you find some blue ones and spell out your wedding date?

Oh, I love those necklaces. It’s funky but also sweet. Good choice, madam!
I always associate owls with love after I made a card/graphic with an owl for my FI.

What do you think about using some sort of blue in a ring? You could also have a label sewn into your dress with your initials and wedding date. I’m not sure about these that I’m linking, but it was the first one I found, just for a good reference. :)

OHH, I like it! All the ideas I had for something blue have already been mentioned (sew-in something on dress, charm on bouquet, rhinestones on bottom of shoes, etc.) My something blue is a handkerchief that has both mine and FI’s initials embroidered on it in blue - I’ll tuck it into my bouquet or dress or something.

@LoriLori:
I saw the white thong at a Hallmark store around here, haha!

But in regards to something blue … draw a heart on you somewhere (that may or may not be seen) in blue sharpie? Blue pins for your shoes? Tie a blue bow and sew it to your underwear or dress? A blue barrette?
