Mrs. Powder Puff's Picture
Mrs. Powder Puff, Chicago Age and Occupation: 25, Preschool Teacher Fiance's Age and Occupation: 25, Career Services Engagement Date: May, 2008 Wedding Date: July, 2009 Blogging Since: November 12, 2008 Venue: Outdoor ceremony, banquet hall reception About Me: I am your typical Midwestern girl attempting to plan a sane, budget-friendly, fun wedding to the man of my dreams. I love shoes, laughing at “Platinum Weddings”, crafts, inspiration boards, candy, and basically anything I can DIY. While weddings can certainly be all-consuming, I honestly can’t wait until the ceremony is over and I can finally call Mr. Powder Puff my husband!
About Mrs. Powder Puff

After the toasts and dinner were through, it was time to dig in to our yummy cake!

Now, for all you curious souls, I have to tell you, there was absolutely no way that Mr. Powder Puff and I were going to be partaking in the cake smash tradition. In the months leading up the wedding, I had regularly schooled Mr. Powder Puff on the reasons why I hate the cash smash, and how there would be MAJOR trouble for him if he even thought of attempting it on our wedding day. So, like the sweet man that he is, he promised, nay, SWORE ON HIS LIFE that he would not smear that cake.

Getting a slice onto the plate in one piece was a big challenge!

I’m the same way! We’ve had the talk already and I’m sure it will come up again several times before June! :)

You two are so cute! I’ve loved your recaps!

yay for no cake smashing! i learned in high school when we did a mock wedding that feeding each other cake symbolizes how you will nourish your relationship, and i think it shows trust to let someone feed you cake in a white dress and nice makeup. that said, my fi knows better than to smash the cake!

Love the cake …
I’m kind of hoping we DO smash the cake in eachother’s face … I’d be sad if Loverboy doesn’t … haha. Yes, I know, it’s strange …

You do look a little scared that he wasn’t going to follow your wishes! I’m glad you had a chance to win him over ahead of time.

Very cute. We also had an agreement on the cake-cutting. Neither of us wanting smashing of any kind, so we cut a piece, each took a forkful and ate our own bites. Not very dramatic but it worked for us.

Mrs. Powder Puff,
I’d love it if you’d do a post on your
wedding day hair and your bridesmaids
hair, because all if them look fantastic.
