Age and Occupation: 26, Non-Profit/Fundraising
Fiance's Age and Occupation: 26, Engineer and Photographer
Engagement Date: March 2, 2008
Wedding Date: September 2009
Venue: The 19th Century Club
About Me: My fiance and I love living in the city of Chicago with our cats Basil and Linus, and vow to never move to the suburbs if we can possibly avoid it! We’ve poured ourselves into planning a wedding that reflects our personal style - modern and high contrast with a vintage twist. Blogging keeps me creative, baking keeps me happy, and grande nonfat no foam sugar free vanilla lattes keep me sane.
A little while back I had posted about my hair inspirations in preparation for my hair trial. There’s so much great inspiration out there, but I was nervous that I’d pick out styles that my hair wouldn’t cooperate with, or that I wouldn’t end up liking.
I’d finally narrowed it down to this great style:

Wedding Date: May, 2009
Blogging Since: November 26, 2008

About Me: I am a west coast lady who loves the San Francisco Bay Area. I love living with Mr. Peep and our animals: Huck the Dog and Ferris the Cat. I work to save the environment in San Francisco, while Mr. Peep makes ridiculously delicious Olive Oil. On any day you can find me reading the latest book I have gotten my hands on, eating Swedish Fish, and perusing wedding blogs! We are both champagne drinking foodies on a Bud Light budget. We are planning an eco-chic, intimate, and interfaith San Francisco City wedding.
Last I left you, I was glowing through the chaos of our room. How could I not smile? It was my wedding day!!

It was that time of the day for me to put on THE dress:

Mrs. Yorkie, Miami
Age and Occupation: 30, Graduate Admissions Coordinator
Fiance's Age and Occupation: 41, Asst. Professor
Engagement Date: July 3, 2008
Wedding Date: June 2009
Venue: Red Fish Grill
About Me: I’m an East Coast girl with a crafty streak who loves traveling, photography and being outdoors (barefoot, if possible). When I do have to wear shoes, I prefer Mizunos, and have worn out a few pairs running marathons. I have a thing for chai, crossword puzzles, Apples to Apples, The Office and my real-life Yorkie, Bella. My West Coast transplant, Mr. Yorkie, roots for the Buckeyes, loves baseball, and climbs mountains for fun. We’re planning a fun little seaside wedding filled with handmade details and vintage charm. I can hardly wait!
Check out what Mr. Yorkie brought home the other day!

“What could it possibly be?” It only took me all of a split second to answer my own question. (After all, I’d been waiting an agonizing eight weeks since our wedding for this little bundle to arrive.)

Miss Dew Drop, San Francisco
Age and Occupation: 31, Attorney
Fiance's Age and Occupation: 35, Managerial Type at an Internet Company
Engagement Date: December 12, 2008
Wedding Date: September 2009
Venue: Ralston Hall Mansion
About Me: I'm a food-and-baking-obsessed, occasionally sword wielding Bay Area native who is quickly becoming overwhelmed with planning a wedding and opening a law practice at the same time. (Brilliant move, that one.) I love reading, online shopping, ice cream, my Macbook, Bollywood movies, hoodies, the UCLA Bruins, and of course, Mr. Dew Drop.
Have I mentioned yet that I’m an auntie now? If I haven’t, it must be because I’m too busy shouting it out the windows and blabbing it to casual passers-by. I’m so, so excited!
My sister’s twins, a girl A and a boy K, will be just about seven months old when I get married.
I’m sure it’s not hard to guess my first thought on this: Clearly they need matching outfits.
Problem #1: It is impossible to find dressy clothes for baby boys.
Why is this? Do clothing manufacturers really think parents take their baby girls to fancy events but leave their boys behind???
Okay, okay, so it was easy to find white christening outfits and velvet wintertime dressy outfits. But how was that going to help me for a September wedding?
But eventually I came up with a few options that I thought might work:

Mrs. Bruschetta, Philadelphia
Age and Occupation: 25, Communication Professional
Fiance's Age and Occupation: 25, Physical Therapy Graduate Student
Engagement Date: November 30, 2007
Wedding Date: August 2009
Venue: St. Thomas of Villanova Church & the F.U.E.L. House
About Me: I’m a self-proclaimed grammar geek who loves singing (like, really belting it) in the car. My mister and I are planning a vibrant summer soiree celebrating our passions – including food and Philly – and when we make it official, we’ll have been together for eight years! Being super competitive is in my nature, and talking excessively is in my genes. I’ve got a terrible sense of direction, but can always easily find my way into Mr. Bruschetta’s arms.
Yup, turtles. Again. We love ’em — and I did warn you we’d be weaving them throughout our reception.
Several months ago, I spotted this blog post. As the photographer writes, the couple shared a kiss at the reception whenever guests rang a bell — but only if the ringer made a donation to a charity the couple had designated.
Daddy Bruschetta, who will welcome everyone and offer his own brief remarks once our guests are seated for dinner, has agreed to briefly explain the “rules” for our dinner game. We’ll encourage guests to clink their glasses to request we kiss. We won’t comply, though, unless the guest contributes funds to benefit the Wetlands Institute.
Here’s where I need your help and input! I’m still unsure whether we should set a price — $1 per kiss? $2 per kiss? — or leave it open to our guests. If we decide on an amount, will guests participate?

Mrs. Mouse, Austin
Age and Occupation: 25, Weddingbee Editor/Attorney
Fiance's Age and Occupation: 31, Civil Engineer
Engagement Date: December 19, 2007
Wedding Date: September 2009
Venue: Barr Mansion
About Me: I just graduated from law school and will be taking the bar, getting married, going on a honeymoon with my guy, and then trying to figure out what I'm going to do with the rest of my life. I was born and raised in a small East Texas town, but I'm no country girl! I'm obsessed with British accents, fantasy (including Harry Potter, of course), and classic rock. My fiance and I consider ourselves both music and beer snobs--but every once in awhile we love to hear a crappy band and drink a cheap brew or two. We're planning an eco-friendly, casual, English garden affair for the end of summer, and we can't wait for it to get here!
So I finally had my hair and makeup trial yesterday. It was more about playing around with makeup colors and getting a feel for different hair options. Keep that in mind when looking at the results—the look will be much more polished on the big day!
For the makeup, I told Lauren that I just wanted a very natural look, with fresh glowy cheeks (courtesy of Miss Cowboy Boot) and neutral lips. Lauren tried two different eye colors: a pop of green on one and a neutral gold/brown on the other.

This photo is before she did the lips. Also, please try to ignore the crazy curlers and clips!

Mrs. Sunbeam, San Francisco/Grove City, PA
Age and Occupation: 26, Grad Student & Office Manager
Fiance's Age and Occupation: 27, Motion Designer
Engagement Date: May 10, 2008
Wedding Date: September 2009
Venue: Harbison Chapel & The Maple Lane Farm
About Me: Mr. Sunbeam and I are high school sweethearts. We both come from a small town in PA but are growing to love the California lifestyle. He loves wine and I love cheese... the perfect combination! When I'm not drooling over wedding blogs, I'm attending grad school, out being a foodie, or attempting to "walk" our cat at the park. Two things guaranteed to excite me are wedding cakes and breaking out my suitcase to travel. Mr. Sunbeam and I are personalizing our hometown wedding to celebrate our high school sweetheart status and PA roots with a few CA touches. After ten years of dating we couldn't be more excited to call each other husband and wife!

This past weekend I had a truly amazing shower, with no theme, no matching invitations, no cake-pop making activities, and only 10 guests. It was the exact opposite of what I was hoping for, because I had been oogling over showers like these; and yet, I couldn’t have asked for a nicer shower. All of my hints had been directed towards my lovely hostesses my mother and ’maids. My mother was the only one among them who still lived in my old hometown, so I believe she played a big role in the planning, even though that’s frowned upon. She hit up my bridesmaids and me for ideas, then weeded them out according to the guests that were attending. Things like the toilet paper dress game did not make the cut!

Mrs. Chick, Houston
Age and Occupation: 28, Rights and Reproduction Manager
Fiance's Age and Occupation: 29, Computer Programmer
Engagement Date: November 15, 2008
Wedding Date: April 2010
Venue: A farm outside of Houston
About Me: Mr. Chick and I met almost ten years ago at Baker Blues, a college jazz party. He was attracted to my intensity, and I was mesmerized by his trivia pursuit skills and his dorm furniture adorned with his initials. We've grown more sophisticated through the years, with our love of wine, owning a house together, and parenthood (of a cat), but we have not lost our silliness or childish sense of humor!
Isn’t this adorable? I would love to do something like this!

Mrs. Poodle, Santiago, Chile/San Bernardino, CA
Age and Occupation: 27, Industrial & Web Designer
Fiance's Age and Occupation: 24, Firefighter & Mountain Patrol
Engagement Date: February 25, 2009
Wedding Date: January 2010
Venue: Mr. P's Grandparents’ Ranch
About Me: I’m a Chilean girl who's crazy about nature and swimming. I enjoy carving, drawing, reading and sewing; I drool over computers, fabric, pretty paper, purple and patterns. To me, chocolate should be one of the seven wonders, right next to lemon pie. I never thought an exchange work experience program was going to change my life forever, but while working in California, I met Mr. Poodle, and ever since my days are better and brighter. We are two goofy souls that, after finding each other, couldn’t help but want to be together forever. It has being a long and sometimes hard road, since we have to deal with such a long distance between us, but we are now facing the last stage of our Fiancé Visa, and soon we will be together. You know the best part? We will be married! So I’ll be blogging from Chile until just a few months before our “green and purple” wedding.
Remember when I showed you all the inspiration dresses I found to show my girls, the trend I said I loved SO much, and the cards I made to re-ask them to be in my party? Well, in the cards, I sent them fabric samples so they could see the fabric I got on sale. It’s a really cute purple fabric, so sadly, I won’t have different shades of purple as an option (I know! I’m cheap!). Anyway, in the cards, I also asked them each to choose a dress, and offered the dresses as a gift from this Poodle bride.
Oh my! I’m feeling like this is going to stress me out! But, I already told them I’d make them!
Well, to my surprise, 2 of them (the Chilean girls) have already picked the dresses they want. Both of them chose the same bottom for their dresses, but the tops are going to be totally different! I wanted the dresses to mismatch so badly, so hopefully the other two BMs won’t choose similar dresses.
A couple of weeks ago, my MOH was going through a very tough situation, and because of that, she wasn’t sure she was going to be able to be by my side on my wedding day (I almost cried!). I was really, really sad and decided that if she couldn’t make it, I’d rather not have a MOH. I didn’t want to “replace” her with someone else. Gladly, and to my surprise and JOY, she will be there!!! (*Happy dance!*)
{ Yay! This is a picture of us celebrating her “comeback” to my wedding party! }

Hi All!

About Me: I am an un-crafty but resourceful, Caribbean-born but New York-raised woman who's been known to analyze "Dancing with the Stars" and “So You Think You Can Dance”, buy stinky cheese, and use way too many parentheses. I keep lists for fun, am constantly daydreaming of my next international travel adventure (four continents down, three to go), debating sports (let’s Got Mets/Giants!) and dancing around my apartment to stay sane. I am excited to share our wedding planning journey as I hope to plan a streamlined, personal, and fun wedding with the greatest life partner I could ever imagine, Mr. Swan.
Okay, it’s actually a major one: my dress!
I decided not to blog about my dress before the wedding because I never know when Mr. Swan is lurking around here.
Since I’ve already shown you some of the other dresses I’ve tried on, I’ll just cut to the chase.

About Me: Voracious reader of short stories, Russian literature, National Geographic and Cosmo. I'm a GENIUS at spicing up Weight Watchers recipes and a pathological cheater at board games. Recently, as of about six months ago, I met my new technological love. This beauty is attractive, fashion-forward, fits in my party clutch, and is always there when I need her. Friends, meet your new best bud: The Flipcam.

I can’t tell you how handy this lil’ number has been… I’ve broken her out for parties, nights out, everyday life - and perhaps MOST handily, at weddings and while on vacation. I absolutely love my Flipcam! My favorite part about her is that she fits in my purse. We would all love to have a camcorder at the ready for those most special moments in our lives, but… I have no inclination to drag a camcorder around a wedding! Too bulky.

About Me: I love the Spice Girls, dogs with underbites, bean burritos, making messes, high fives, avoiding showers, crossword puzzles, blogs, weddings, and blogs about weddings!
A few of my friends are getting married soon, and since I’m (somewhat) fresh off our own wedding, all the ways I wanted to help swirled around in my head. Armed with all my crafty gadgets, which have really only been gathering dust over the past year, I longed to bust the Gocco out for a long session of stamping and sweating. I had this huge urge to tell my girlfriends that I was waiting in the wings for their call, should they ever want any paper projects made by a friend!
Then I thought back to when I first got engaged, and all of the random offers for help I got. “My mom is an aspiring cake baker,” someone would say. Or, “My friend just started an invitations business… check them out!” I remembered all the awkward but polite, “Thanks but no thanks”s I doled out. Everyone who had offered help was only doing it out of the genuine kindness of their hearts, but I was so set on doing things my way that I was running out of polite ways to decline every time I got another random suggestion for a random “friendor of a friend”.
So now, here I am. Ex-bride, craft obsessed. Do I offer to help?

About Me: Both Mr. Peony and I are huge computer nerds, and our conversations usually consist of the latest gadgets, programming languages, and video games. At the same time, I can also be very girly with an obsession with handbags, makeup, and high heels. And art! I've studied studio art extensively, almost majored in art history, and freelance as a web and graphics designer. Mr. Peony and I are having a ball of a time planning a wedding for 250(!) guests, doing our best to infuse our personalities (geeky chic) with the wishes of our very traditional Asian parents.
I know that family portraits are not always the most popular of recap posts. However, how many of you can boast to having a family as big as mine? (All photos by Danny Weiss.)

“That’s it?” you say? Nope, these are only the ones who came from Korea to attend the wedding. Here are all the members of my side of the family… who were able to make it to the wedding.
