Mrs. Mouse, AustinAge and Occupation: 25, Weddingbee Editor/AttorneyFiance's Age and Occupation: 31, Civil EngineerEngagement Date: December 19, 2007Wedding Date: September 2009Venue: Barr MansionAbout Me: I just graduated from law school and will be taking the bar, getting married, going on a honeymoon with my guy, and then trying to figure out what I'm going to do with the rest of my life. I was born and raised in a small East Texas town, but I'm no country girl! I'm obsessed with British accents, fantasy (including Harry Potter, of course), and classic rock. My fiance and I consider ourselves both music and beer snobs--but every once in awhile we love to hear a crappy band and drink a cheap brew or two. We're planning an eco-friendly, casual, English garden affair for the end of summer, and we can't wait for it to get here!
I’m probably going to book my hair trial for two-and-a-half weeks or so from today. That’ll be about three weeks before the wedding. My hairstylist, Lauren, is so amazing that I don’t have one doubt in my mind I’ll be using her on our wedding day. As a bonus, she does makeup too! I honestly don’t know what I would’ve done with my hair if I hadn’t found Lauren. Mrs. Kitten introduced me to her a few months ago, and I never looked back. She took my hair from a poofy and dried-out-at-the-ends bird’s nest to a layered and evenly colored shiny masterpiece.
I only wish I could be as decisive about my hairstyle as I am about my stylist. Ever since getting engaged (wow, was it really a year and a half ago?), I’ve imagined wearing my hair down in long, flowing curls. Hell, that is why I have been growing my hair out for months on end and taking prenatal vitamins like it’s some sort of religion. This what I had in mind.
Mrs. Ballet Flat, New OrleansAge and Occupation: 24, Geographic Information Systems AnalystFiance's Age and Occupation: 26, IT AnalystEngagement Date: March 16, 2008Wedding Date: May, 2009Blogging Since: September 25, 2008Venue: St. Charles Borromeo Church/Jefferson-Orleans NorthAbout Me: I absolutely love wedding planning, spending time with Mr. Ballet Flat, various crafts, watching football, baking, pop music, bargain hunting and ice cream. My idea of a great date night is dinner and clearance shopping with Mr. Ballet Flat! I currently live below sea level in the suburbs near New Orleans, where I make maps all day, everyday for my job. I'm slowly becoming more and more obsessed with anything New Orleans related for our wedding, and I can't wait for the big day!
And so begins the festivities before becoming a Mrs.! After all the planning, it was time to pack everything up and drive to NOLA to let the good times roll!
After my last day at work, Miss K drove all the way down from Dallas to meet me and caravan to my parents’ ahouse together. Traffic was not our friend at all, but at least we had Starbucks to help ease the pain.
We arrived at my parents’ house a little later than Mizz K expected, but she stole Miss K away from me and off to the hotel they went to decorate before the party began!
The party started out with a yummalicious hibachi dinner in Metairie (a city right outside of NOLA). I drove Miss R there with me to enjoy the dinner, but sadly afterwards, due to her young age, I dropped her off right after, since the later festivities involved the necessity of being 18 or older. (Sorry Miss R!)
When we met Mizz K and Miss K, they decided it was time to decorate me as the bachelorette. He he… I was so giddy with all the pink decorations! I was thankful for the lack of boy parts on my outfit.
Mrs. Bunny, ColumbusAge and Occupation: 24, Associate Editor/ReporterFiance's Age and Occupation: 27, ReporterEngagement Date: September 23, 2008Wedding Date: July 2009Venue: Everal Barn, WestervilleAbout Me: Organized, but messy. I love art (all kinds). I don't have any secrets. I talk a lot and listen even more. I show love by baking. I'm timid by nature, but brave when it counts.
Mr. Bunny and I work at competing weekly newspapers, which makes it a little interesting trying to describe our work joys and frustrations without giving away too much before the paper comes out. In spite of that little hurdle, we've managed to build a pretty solid relationship in the short one-and-a-half years we will have been together when we tie the knot. I can't wait!
Some of us on the Weddingbee boards have been talking about holding a meet up this Saturday, Aug. 8 in Columbus.
I’m not sure how well that date works for any of you, but if you’re going to be in town …
join me, Mrs. Bunny,
at 12:30 p.m. for lunch at Northstar Cafe in the Short North … Read more…

Fiance's Age and Occupation: 30, Television Production/WriterEngagement Date: December 24, 2008Wedding Date: September 2009Venue: The Marvimon HouseAbout Me: I'm a Bay Area native trying to create a life for myself (and my fiance, and our three cats!) in the vast city of Los Angeles. I love vegan red velvet cupcakes, pilates ,and mid-century furniture. Mr. Sprinkle and I met when my band toured through his city (we bonded over cake and a mutual love of Morrissey) and we are getting married on the four year anniversary of our first date. When I am not teaching preschool (or blogging!) you can find me perfecting recipes, petting kittens, hiking in Griffith Park, and overusing exclamation points. We are planning a vegan, green-as-possible, DIY wedding, and I couldn't be more excited to share all of the details!
A few readers requested a tutorial on how to make these hanging lanterns and planters. So I whipped this up this morning. It’s my first tutorial, but hopefully it is helpful and easy to understand!
Begin by gathering your supplies.
You will need:
A wire cutter (Make sure it has a blade for steel if you use steel wire)
A roll of wire (I used 26g jewelry wire for some, 10g wire for others, and green floral wire to give different look to a few of my lanterns)
A cleaned out glass jar with a lip (usually any jar that originally had a lid will have a lip on top)
If using thick wire, you might also need needle nose pliers.
Upside-down Crate and Barrel box as a work surface. Cat helpers are not necessary but offer an added touch of fun!
Mrs. French Bulldog, Orange CountyAge and Occupation: 28, Administrative Assistant & Interior Design StudentFiance's Age and Occupation: 28, Purchasing AnalystEngagement Date: November 8, 2008Wedding Date: August 2009Venue: Bernardo WineryAbout Me: I've lived in Atlanta, Dallas and Laguna Niguel; although I've lived in Orange County, CA most my life, I'm a Southerner at heart. I work full time for a Commercial General Contractor (aka my father) and I go to school for Interior Design at night. I love modern design, music, wine, crafting, DMailing, my family, my Westies, and of course, Mr Frenchie! Mr Frenchie and I met 3 years ago on Match.com and have been best friends ever since. I love his "old soul" and how he laughs with his whole body, among many other things. We are planning our summer wedding at the winery near his hometown, just 45 minutes south of Orange County.
Last week when I said goodbye to my cute birdie place card holders, Mama Frenchie and I tried to figure out a way to get some birdie goodness back in. Here is a sneak peek at what we’ve been working on.
Mrs. Lightning, Cape Town Age and Occupation: 22, Journalist and Graphic DesignerFiance's Age and Occupation: 23, Computer ScientistEngagement Date: December 27, 2008
Wedding Date: September 2009Venue: Hout Bay ManorAbout Me: I'm a young American living abroad in the beautiful city of Cape Town with a wonderful South African fiance and our crazy kitty Zeus. We're young, driven and madly in love. Together we're pursuing our wildest dreams including our biggest undertaking yet, a vintage retrospective wedding filled to the brim with DIY madness. I have an unnatural attraction to cake, a passion for blogging and a love of good design. While I might be an overly obsessive creative with too many ideas and nowhere to put them, Mr Lightning is my biggest fan and I can't wait to make my true love mine.
With a late ceremony and reception a likelihood, I have decided to embrace it and find things more suitable to a candlelit evening. The first is to carry lanterns instead of bouquets. I have already started sourcing reasonable and sturdy lanterns with handles, but nothing has been quite right yet. In particular, I am looking for silver metal and glass. I have decided I will carry lanterns, and so will the groomsmen and bridesmaids. Each will place a lantern on either side of the imaginary aisle at the center of the restaurant. In my head, it seems to be a good idea, as there will be no aisle unless I make one after guests are seated. There are 9 people in our wedding party—5 girls and 4 guys. I will carry the 10th lantern and place it behind me to complete the aisle (subject to this all going to plan).

In the past year I've lived in Baltimore, MD, Tucson, AZ, Miami, FL and Lancaster, England. In my not so spare time I enjoy planning trips with Mr. D' Orsay, visiting friends and family and crafting like a mo-fo. I also enjoy modern dance classes, rugby and soccer but have been banned by my mother, MOHs, and Mr. D' Orsay from playing till after the wedding. I have an unnatural addiction to cheese and shoes, but love Mr. D' Orsay more than either and can't wait to become Mrs. D' Orsay!
Wellll… it would be great! Because I’m not talking about insects, I’m talking about bloggers! Specifically, these lovely ladies (plus a few hornets and a baby bee).
Mrs. Sunbeam, San Francisco/Grove City, PAAge and Occupation: 26, Grad Student & Office ManagerFiance's Age and Occupation: 27, Motion DesignerEngagement Date: May 10, 2008Wedding Date: September 2009Venue: Harbison Chapel & The Maple Lane FarmAbout Me: Mr. Sunbeam and I are high school sweethearts. We both come from a small town in PA but are growing to love the California lifestyle. He loves wine and I love cheese... the perfect combination! When I'm not drooling over wedding blogs, I'm attending grad school, out being a foodie, or attempting to "walk" our cat at the park. Two things guaranteed to excite me are wedding cakes and breaking out my suitcase to travel. Mr. Sunbeam and I are personalizing our hometown wedding to celebrate our high school sweetheart status and PA roots with a few CA touches. After ten years of dating we couldn't be more excited to call each other husband and wife!
Finding a wedding band has become my never ending journey, and time is not on my side. I’ve tried on everything under the sun, from plain, to decked out in diamonds and haven’t found anything that I’d want to wear for all of eternity along side my e-ring. As you saw before, my e-ring is simple. I love the solitaire diamond stealing the scene on my finger and I’ve felt like the solitaire diamond gets lost in a sea of sparkle when a diamond eternity band is added beside it. A plain white gold band could work, but if I wear it solo, my ring finger would feel like a pretty blank canvas. About a month ago I was struck with an option I hadn’t even considered …

I enjoy carving, drawing, reading and sewing; I drool over computers, fabric, pretty paper, purple and patterns. To me, chocolate should be one of the seven wonders, right next to lemon pie. I never thought an exchange work experience program was going to change my life forever, but while working in California, I met Mr. Poodle, and ever since my days are better and brighter. We are two goofy souls that, after finding each other, couldn’t help but want to be together forever. It has being a long and sometimes hard road, since we have to deal with such a long distance between us, but we are now facing the last stage of our Fiancé Visa, and soon we will be together. You know the best part? We will be married! So I’ll be blogging from Chile until just a few months before our “green and purple” wedding.

I own every single Martha Stewart Wedding Magazine and have been dreaming of weddings since I was little. I believe life is about doing what makes you happy. Mrs. Labrador Retriever, Athens/SavannahAge and Occupation: 24, Student/Sports ReporterFiance's Age and Occupation: 29, Physical Therapy Assistant Student/Future Dr. of PT
Engagement Date: December 31, 2008Wedding Date: November 2009Venue: Whitfield Square/Savannah StationAbout Me: I'm working on my second degree from UGA (Go Dawgs!). I'm a self-proclaimed attention-w****. If it involves a camera, I'm in front of it! You'll never meet a girlier tomboy than me. I can go toe to toe with any guy on the subject of college football, and lift more than any girl in my gym, all without chipping a nail. I hope to someday be the only person you want delivering your sports news. My FI and I are the loving parents of three Labrador Retrievers (one of each color) and are planning a "Southern Romantic Charm" wedding in the beautiful, historic city of Savannah. I'm not extreme in anything except moderation... and wedding planning.
I have since learned that the ball of flowers I’m referring to is called a pomander or a kissing ball. But I really didn’t care what they were called as long as I knew I would have them for our wedding.
