I Heart Ranunculus

September 1st, 2009 @ 2:42 pm by Mrs. Frozen Yogurt

Ranunculus is another word I didn’t even know a couple months ago, but I seriously do heart ranunculus. I might even consider a full ranunculus bridal bouquet. Just look at their tissue-like petals. The word comes from the latin word frog. I don’t really see the connection, but I used to catch frogs all the time as a kid, so I think it’s fate. Just look at them. How can you not swoon?:

I’m so in love with those too, but they’re out of season in June. :(

I love these too, but there were none in Holland when it was time for me to order the flowers for my bouquet! :(

I love these, too! I was so happy that they were available when we got married so I could include them. I don’t think I’d ever heard of them before wedding planning. I’m not a big fan of roses, so I totally preferred these!

haha…I originally wanted peonies and dahlias for my wedding, but their were out of season in March/April. My florist used soft pink ranunculus and I could have just DIED, at how beautiful they were!!

I also found and love ranunculus. I used them exclusively, in different colors.

I love ranunculus too! I’ve found that I really like white flowers the most, especially big poofy, frilly ones.

omg. i LOVE these!! When are they in season? I’m getting married in Nov. My inital choice were Peonies.. i even thought (for a split second) about moving my wedding date so i could have them. Crazy I know. In the end I think i’m going to end up using Dahlias, Stephanotis, and Roses in my bouquet.. but i’m still not sure…

I want peonies SO badly, but they aren’t in season in January, so unless I want to pay $200+ for my bouquet, that is just out of the question.

Right now I’m leaning toward a bouquet of garden roses & ranunculus, or maybe even all of one of those. Visit my blog http://himegg.blogspot.com to see this florist in Hawaii that makes your bouquet look like one large flower by wiring together individual rose or cymbidium orchid petals. They are gorgeous. I may splurge and get one of these for myself..

I adore ranunculus as well, too bad there is NO way I can afford them for my September wedding - Boo! I do love dahlias though, and thankfully their in season in September.

I love those as well and had never heard of them before planning my wedding. My newfound favorite is green cymbidium orchids. I can’t wait to see my bouquet on the big day!
