Rice Owls

September 1st, 2009 @ 11:11 am by Mrs. Chick

I have a big soft spot for owls because they are the mascots for Rice University, the school Mr. Chick and I attended.

Wouldn’t these be darling for our farm wedding? We could have two owls perched on top of the tree! My friend Lulu and I are going to attempt to make this some time soon…

Found from the Etsy shop of Intres:

We could put this by the guest book!

And then have these matching boutonnieres?

Have you thought of incorporating felt into your wedding decorations?

These are so cute I cannot even STAND it! No joke! I’ve been thinking about incorporating owls into our wedding since my boyfriend is very, very academic (and wise…) and these would be perfect!

Michael’s has a ton of owl stuff right now. Owl paper products, ribbons, boxes. They are really cute (I love owls too, it was one of my sorority symbols) and many of them are in the bargain bins.

If your wedding is not that large, you could even use this as your seating chart: an owl for each guest (or couple), placed in nests representing the tables! Nice favor too!
