Honeymooning : wedding honeymoon Cabo Sa cabo-sa

source

Cabo, here we come (in 8 weeks)! :)

Mr. Beagle’s parents (my future in-laws!!!) have graciously gifted us use of their timeshare. After the mister and I browsed through a few different locations, we decided on the timeshare in Cabo. Mr. Beagle expressed interest in going somewhere outside the U.S. and somewhere with beaches, so this seemed to fit the bill. Although I have been yearning to visit New England, or somewhere with mountains, or the entire state of Washington, I’m compromising on this one.

And actually, Mr. Beagle’s excitement that has spawned from choosing a locale is quite infectious. I’m sitting here with a big fat grin on my face just thinking about it. :)

Some other reasons that contributed to our decision are these: I know that after the next two months of rigorous planning/creating/DIYing/organizing/last minute projects we will need a week where we can do absolutely nothing. With our funds depleted from this big party we’re throwing, we also needed a place that was economical. As much as we would love to vacay in Europe (or New England, mountain-land, or Washington), I would feel really guilty and upset if we didn’t have the energy to sightsee and thoroughly explore. For some reason, I don’t feel like we will need to do this in Cabo. I think the scenery along with a white sandy beach at our feet will keep us occupied enough during our honeymoon. We’ll save that adventurous vacation for another time.*

What factors are you using to decide on a honeymoon? Are you taking your dream vacation?

*And thanks for all your suggestions, I definitely look forward to visiting more than one of these locations in the near future.

how nice to have use of the timeshare! We have no clue if we’re going to be able to afford any kind of honeymoon, but we definitely want to do something to relax and spend time away. Congrats on a decision and I know it will be an amazing time.

Money is a BIG factor in our honeymooon decision. We wanted to go somewhere we’ve always wanted to go, but didn’t want to spend another small fortune since the wedding is costing a lot more than we expected. I really want to do a cruise, so right now we’re between an Alaskan, Hawaiian or Caribbean cruise. Alaska is in the lead because it’s kind of out of the ordinary as far as honeymoon destinations, it fits the cruise and “always wanted to go there” criteria, May is actually a great time to go (not so with some other locales), the price is right, and it affords the opportunity to visit other nearby spots in the days before/after the cruise!

Best wishes!

I can’t wait for our honeymoon!!! We’re cruising the South Caribbean. We love cruising, and definitely wanted to be on the beach, and get pampered and be able to eat whenever we want so this is great for us. It cost a little bit more than we would have liked, but since we really need a vacation, we decided to splurge a little and treat ourselves to a balcony where we can eat room service every meal if we really want to :)

I so understand your love of the mtns Miss Beagle! Mr. Espresso and I had the same debate and finally decided on something with both. But relaxing in the sun, lying on the beach, and having some fresh fish tacos with a cold beer in hand sounds mighty nice. And having a place to stay for free?! I don’t think you can beat that :)

We’re trying to figure out where to go on our honeymoon right now. Just like you, we’d love to go to Europe and “see all the sights” but it just seems like so much work after what could (will) be a hectic couple weeks! So we’re thinking Hawaii. Enough there for sight seeing and enough there for relaxing. And everyone has a great time in Hawaii, right? Cabo looks great too!

I’m not sure where you are staying, but if it’s at The Sherraton Hacienda Del Mar, sprlurge one night for dinner at Pitahayas (which is right at the resort) it’s pricy, but OH SO WORTH IT. I went to Cabo with my parents when my FI and I started dating, and called him after we ate there to gush about the amazing food for 30 minutes.

As for sightseeing in Cabo… there’s a walmart in town (and a costco, and some kind of market)… that’s pretty much it.

Yay!! Cabo,

Love it there. My aunt has a house, and FI and I have gone. It is beautiful, and if you are interested in gorgeous, but somewhat secluded beaches PM me, and I can help you out with that. Also if you are down from light sight seeing, some sailing adventures are fun, as are the glass blowing stores where they still blow glass. Also there are some cute little town right outside where you can find amazing tiny taco shops and ice cream (highly recommend you finding a Michoacana - best ice cream in the world.) Finally, if you are looking for a fun adventure, I can give you some great fishermen that will take you out for a deep sea fishing adventure. Best if you have a kitchen, because there is nothing like delicious fresh yellowtail.

Have fun!!!

Cabo is great! My family goes there every year for the Holidays. I actually have a list of our favorite restaurants that I give out to friends who’ve never been there before - PM me if you’d like a copy :)

We’re taking a belated honeymoon Oct 24-31st in Cabo! We were a bit nervous when the hurricane hit yesterday, but it doesn’t seem to have caused major damage. J’s perfectly content laying around in the sun, while I like to explore… so this place was his call, too.

Cabo is AWESOME! You must eat at Mama’s Royale Cafe for breakfast. We ate there 7 days in a row. It’s amazing and cheap…great coffee and fresh squeezed orange juice, fresh fruit, and homemade bread! I also highly recommend Salvatores for the best lasanga ever (in Mexico, I know, it’s weird) and a great romantic atmosphere. Maro’s Shrimp house is kind of a hole in the wall place but has the best seafood and service.

Stay away from the tourist trap and chain restaurants along the marina. Spend an afternoon at Lover’s Beach and Merano Beach and go whale watching one day. Other than that, just chill on the beach and enjoy! The scenery can’t be beat. We are doing Hawaii for ours.
