After we departed our reception location, Mr. Powder Puff and I made our way over to Grand Rapids, where my dad had reserved us a room at the J.W. Mariott. Swanky, yo! We took the elevator to the top floor, and entered our beautiful room, where I proceeded to sit on the bed and wail. I cried my little eyes out.
My new husband, thoroughly distressed, asked me what was wrong. And this was my reply: “It’s *sniff* oooovvveeerrrr!!!!” Yes, on my wedding night, I bawled my eyes out because the day was over. True, I was overly tired. But the wedding was the most fun day of my life thus far. There was so much love and support. It was truly awesome. And to have it be over in what seemed like a flash was a very bittersweet moment for me.
All those months of work and planning. Over, just like that. It really is true what they say—the day FLIES by. So girls, if I could give you a piece of advice, it would be to savor every moment. Yes, not everything about planning a wedding is sunshine and butterflies. But if you do it right, it will be the most amazing day you’ll ever experience.

So spend the whole night on the dance floor.

Steal your new husband away for a special dance.

Laugh a whole heck of a lot.

Because your unadulterated joy will be contagious, and that will truly make your day magic.

Well, that’s all she wrote. Literally. I’ve shared everything I have with all you wonderful people, and even though I feel a little sad that the wedding planning process is over, it’s time to move on to the next stage in my life. Gone are the days of tulle and lace. Invitations and centerpieces. And that’s OK. I feel ready. It’s time.
So what can I say to you all that will encompass how much you and your never-ending support have meant to me? How can I even begin to thank Mr. and Mrs. Bee, and Pengy for allowing me this wonderfully fantastic experience? For once in my life I am without words. Only filled with gratitude and awe. I will truly miss you all.
So, as Mr. Powder Puff and I head off into the sunset, holding one another’s hand, I’ll leave you brides-to-be with one final thought in the form of song lyrics. They so perfectly sum up what I wish for your wedding, your love, your life.
“And they’ll be dancing in the aisles
when we’re standing face to face.
Get a hotel room on our honeymoon
at some mighty fancy place.
You’ll be pretty as a princess
and I’ve made up my mind.
And I’ll open up your car door every time
as long as you can reach over and unlock mine.”
- Joe Firstman, “Car Door”
Well, now I’m tearing up. So I’ll keep this short. Adieu, Weddingbee! And from the heart of this little Powder Puff to yours…
