Bridesmaid’s Dresses with Sleeves

September 4th, 2009 @ 2:53 pm by Mrs. Glitter

I’m a big fan of dresses with sleeves (Didn’t know?… Check out my wedding dress). I think many strapless dresses are gorgeous, so absolutely no offense to them. But I was toying around with the idea of bridesmaid’s dresses with sleeves. Having a fall/winter wedding? Bridesmaids worried about revealing too much of their arms? Or you’re just interested in a look that is chic and sophisticated? It’s a bit of a departure from the norm, but awesome nonetheless.

Anthropologie

Banana Republic

J.Crew

Nordstrom

What do you think? Are you having your ‘maids wear dresses that are different from the standard strapless/sashed dresses? What do they look like and where did you get them?

I think my SIL will wear a dress w/ sleeves - more power to her! These are all great choices.

I was just browsing online yesterday for good rehearsal dinner dresses and picked out almost all of these dresses and potentials! They are perfect for October when it might be a bit chilly out!

oh, I love the J. Crew with the ruffled neckline! DB has a sleeveless dress that looks similar and is MUCH cheaper!

i agree that not everyone suits the popular tube top look. i’m considering sleeved options for our hometown reception where it’ll be chilly.

i don’t have an opinion. if my ladies want sleeves, they’ll get sleeves. i just want them to wear something they love and feel great in

I didn’t think strapless made sense for our fall wedding, so they have wide straps, no sleeves, but certainly good for the ladies that need real bras. I love that J. Crew.

I love the idea of sleeves, especially the one from J Crew! Since our wedding is in the heat of FL in late May though, I figured it might be a good idea for straps or strapless!

My bridesmaid dresses break all the norms. They have short sleeves, and they are made out of cotton voile. I love them. Our reasoning was more of a modesty issue. Our church has rules regarding the showing of shoulders, so, rather than buy strapless dresses and then buy a seperate cover-up, we just looked for dresses that already had them covered.

I simply loved the Banana republic dress in golden color. I personally feel that brides maid dresses with sleeves look more elegant and if its in glitzy color then it looks even more appealing.
