Cotton Candy

I love cotton candy. Yes, I’m 28 and should never eat something so full of sugar (ok, it’s entirely sugar). For a while I felt like I couldn’t buy it because I was too old, and now I have nieces I can buy it for (or at least I can say I’m buying it for them). Which means that maybe I could have some cotton candy at the wedding… you know, for the kids.

You know kids are dying for people to cut the cake, but this will help keep them full of sugar and totally entertained for the time between ceremony and cutting the cake. These cute designs were created by Hostess with the Mostess. She does everything I wish I knew how to.

And then I started to think that people have chocolate fountains, but I’m not really a chocolate girl, so why not a cotton candy machine? Yes, I can appreciate a good chocolate covered strawberry, but I’d rather have the fluffy goodness of some fresh cotton candy. So I started researching cotton candy machine rental, and it’s actually really inexpensive.

I wanted a cart:

But I can’t find one that is under $400, and that’s just too much.

I did find this cotton candy machine sans cart for only $35 on eBay.

I’m sold. I can’t wait!!

Are you including any foods in your wedding that are a throwback to your childhood?

Just be warned - making cotton candy is SO messy! I used to work at a video store where we made it and by the end of the shift I was always covered!

you can always rent them too. Make sure you hire someone else to make the cotton candy or people will get very very sticky!

I love the idea though!

try your local rental company. We rented a cart for my 2 yr old daughters “JoJo Circus” birthday party.

THIS IS WHAT I WANT TO DOOOOOOOO! :) Please share any leads you find. You can rent smaller stations (table top and not a cart) for like $60-70 plus sugar and paper cones (these are Bay Area prices). But yeah… or you can buy a little one online I guess…

Please update on this when you decide/buy! :)

I love the idea, my only concern would be that everything would get all sticky! But it’s nothing that a wet nap won’t take care of :)

ahh yes, definitely have someone else to take care of that for you. i remember seeing the boys who worked the cotton candy machine leaving with their shirts covered in cotton candy fragments. you can offer a vest of some kind to protect people’s clothes?

but yeah, i love this idea. i also toyed with the idea of a gelato cart!

very cute! If I find is cheaply I want to rent one of these and a pop-corn machine to have at the doorway so people can get a treat for the shuttle bus ride to the hotel.

I would love to have this for pre ceremony…on second thought maybe not. I can already see the flower girl and ring bearer covered in a sugary crust. FI has wanted an ice cream cart

I had a craving for cotton candy earlier, and this just made it worse! Cotton candy at a wedding = serious win.
