About Mrs. Chick

One of my biggest worries for our outdoor wedding is rain. Although I love rain, I don’t actually want it to rain on our wedding day. I’d much prefer not to have a tent, but I think we’re going to have to, unless… there’s some sort of tent insurance policy. So, I’ve been thinking about how to make tents cuter without spending a ton of money on Raj Tents:

I first found out about Raj Tents from the movie Rachel Getting Married.

I couldn’t really think of a good way to decorate a plain ole white tent, until I saw last week’s Mad Men:

So simple! Tack some curtains on to the sides of a white tent, and you’ve got a Roger Sterling soiree!

Maybe something like this from Pottery Barn Kids to go with our pink theme?

These curtains from Urban Outfitters would be fab:

Are you planning on having a tent for your outdoor wedding? What are your ideas for tent decorations?

What a great idea to use those curtains just like at Roger’s party. :) I like those pink striped ones for your theme.

im having a tent at my wedding. and i don’t want to spend a fortune on the decor either. right now im toying around with the idea of using ribbons (a bunch) to decorate the poles… or perhaps a string of beads with intermittent flowers, similar to quiche’s flower garlands. still working out the details, obviously.

That is such a fantastic idea!!! If you’re a DIYer, you could also (easily) make panels too.

great idea about the curtains, but i’d definitely hit hobby lobby or michaels and have a couple of yards cut and pool them at the bottom (a no-sew alternative ;))…. you could also string chinese lanterns from the top or umbrellas.

and Sperry tents are equally delish, but also not budget friendly :(

We draped tulle from the inside of our tent and hung loads of lights to spice it up a little bit.

Uplighting is the answer! I hated the look of a white tent, but then saw images of uplighting and was SOLD in an instant! Our wedding is black and white with hot pink accents, and we got all pink lighting, It looks amazing(at least with all of the pictures I have seen!) Our wedding is this weekend, so I will let you know in person how great it looked!
You can see a bunch of tent examples here: http://www.bostonuplights.com/#

Good Luck!
