Mrs. Frozen Yogurt's Picture
Mrs. Frozen Yogurt, Dallas Age and Occupation: 28, Special Projects Coordinator Fiance's Age and Occupation: 26, Equity Trader Engagement Date: March 19, 2009 Wedding Date: April 2010 Venue: Marie Gabrielle, Dallas About Me: I was born and raised in Texas, and have lived in several of the cities across the state, but I currently reside in Austin. I went to college in Boston and have a special place in my heart for the Northeast. I love reading, shopping, wine, reuniting with college friends that are scattered across the country, reality TV, trying out new recipes, and attempting all the DIY projects that come along with wedding planning. I'm a "bleeding heart, save the world type" and thankfully my job allows me to work on legislation and policy to help out those in need. I met Mr. Frozen Yogurt in a bar, though he doesn't even drink! And now we are planning a modern yet vintage wedding in Dallas while dealing with the trials and tribulations of first time homeownership.

Save the Dates

September 9th, 2009 @ 11:05 am by Mrs. Frozen Yogurt

Why was I stressed about the save the dates? I’ll tell you why: because I had no clue what I wanted. With everything else, I saw it, knew I had to have it, and it was done. One example of this was the wedding invitations. I ordered a sample, the first and only. I got the sample and I absolutely LOVED it. I seriously almost wanted to cry when I opened them. They are gorgeous. I’m still trying to figure out how to package them, what to include, and all that, but I will save it for another post.

But for save the dates, I have no clue! One idea I had was a photobooth save the date. Here’s one I like from Magnet Street:

We plan to have a photobooth, so it will fit with the theme. But I’m just not in love with them. They are magnets, which we really wanted, so that’s good.

Then I saw these from McCluskey photo, and I like them too.

But again I’m not in love, and just feel sort of “meh” about them.

After hours and hours of searching I came across these and feel like they are very sweet. These are from a blog called a Summer Picnic Wedding:

But then I came across Moo Cards. I love moo cards!

They are so cute!! Then I saw them connected to a save the date from Whitebox and thought it was great!

Well, I found a template that will let me use a photo and also add a little text. This will also allow the moo card to be a little bigger.

Then I plan to add magnets to the back, which I also found a tutorial for, and then I’ll tie the moo magnets to a printed invite, much like the Whitebox one above.

Do you want to see the photo I will probably use? Here it is:

So, in the end, it is all coming together!! I can’t wait to show you the finished product after the save the date party with my BMs!!

There are so many great ideas out there its so hard to pick just one! I love that picture though (the colors just pop and who doesn’t love how your foot is up in such a romantic kiss!)

I had a hard time picking a style too. I wanted it to be casual but still portray a little bit of the elegant vibe of the wedding! We ended up using a photo very similar to yours with my foot up in the air. Can’t wait to see how yours turned out!

moo cards ARE the best :) I love them. We had engagement photos printed on them (almost all different), had them calligraphed and tied them to lavender bundles as place cards. I use the extras as bookmarks post wedding and smile everytime I close my book :)
