Time to transition into dance mode! At this point in time, our guests will be full of yummy cheeses, wine, and delicious little fall-inspired small plates. They will be craving some sugar and needing some music to keep them from slipping into food coma. No worries, guests! The dance music is on its way!
We’ll be slicing our delicious (soon to be revealed sketches) cake by Wendy Kromer to Little Sack of Sugar:
Then Mr Sunbeam and I will take the floor. Based on your feedback, the fact that it has a beat that is easy to dance to, and because it was my #1 all along, muahaha, we are going to dance to Iron & Wine’s Lady’s House. Swooooon.
Next, Father Sunbeam and I will dance. He didn’t have any preference for the song, which is not a surprise, since dancing is not his thing. Though, he did get pulled out on the floor for a YMCA dance at my cousin’s wedding, and we were all very entertained.
He and I will dance to Paul Simon’sFather & Daughter. A fellow bride I know is doing her father/daughter dance on the down low, and getting a subtle heads-up from the DJ that the bride and groom’s “first dance” song is next. That might be an excellent option, as it would also let our “first dance” song kick off the dancing.
Mr. Sunbeam isn’t sure right now what song he and FMIL Sunbeam will be dancing to. There aren’t too many mother-son songs out there. I’m not even 100% sure they will do a dance. We shall see!
Next up, get your booty on the dance floor! What songs did you choose for your cake cutting and dancing with your parents? Anyone forgoing the father-daughter, mother-son dances?
