About Mrs. Espresso

When money is tight, your wedding party is large, and everyone comes in different shapes and sizes, a Little Black Dress can make decisions so much simpler—especially if you already have one in your closet. I had 7 bridesmaids. The tallest was 6′ tall and the shortest 5′ tall. The same dress can look very different on both. So early on, I decided to let each of my girlfriends pick their own LBD. My only request was that it had straps. Some wore dresses they already had, others went out and bought one, but it was their choice. It reflected their styles, and they actually could/would wear them again.

The moms decided to hop on the LBD bandwagon as well. And I’m so glad they did. Here is the beginning procession to our wedding. The parents walked down to Orange Sky by Alexi Murdoch and the wedding party walked to “It’s Good to Be in Love” by Frou Frou.

Cute! My MOH(and only attendant) is wearing a dress black top and dressy black pants. She’s older and she’s not a skirt or dress person. And it’s definitely something she’ll wear again!

I was going to pick a handful of dresses and let my BMs choose but they all wanted the same dress… it all worked out because I was afraid just one would want a different one or something and it wouldn’t be as mix-matchy as I wanted it. I wanted it all different for the most part (at least 1/2 and 1/2) or all the same.

I’m on the bandwagon. I was surprised by how many other brides had thought of it and were doing it, and also by the pushback I got from the mothers. They really wanted matching dresses. Generation gap issue, perhaps.

The LBDs came out lookinng so chic! Gorgeous!

I let my ladies choose any Navy Blue dress they wanted, my only request was that it was knee length. It turned out so cute because you could see their personality in each one of their choices.

We’re doing LBDs too…and I gave them no restrictions. They all picked something different, yet surprisingly similar. Sounds strange, but it’s not. They look smoking hot…now if I could only convince my Mom to do the same…

Very cute! I am loving the tights look on your bridesmaids.

My bridesmaids are all wearing a variation of the LBDs as well. Black tea length dresses, I let them choose their necklines so we will have 4 different black dresses. I wasn’t brave enough to turn them loose completely :-0
