Then I followed my beau out here to LA and we're getting settled in. I've been making things since I can remember. I was raised by crafters. I love to sew, draw, paint, build, cook, bake (anything with a tangible end result is fair game). In that same spirit, I've been hosting since I was old enough to cook and set a fancy table. I kind of take after my grandmother, who believes that your morning OJ always tastes better out of the good crystal.

Paper Flowers

September 11th, 2009 @ 5:55 pm by Mrs. Moonbeam

Paper Flowers : wedding crafts Chanel

Clearly, this is inspiring. Chanel’s spring 2009 show was a crazy explosion of paper flowers, and I must try to have a piece of this at our wedding. So here are some shots of my small test run 15″x20″ flower wall:

Paper Flowers : wedding crafts Flower1

Paper Flowers : wedding crafts Flower 01

It took me a good bit of Saturday to get this going, but now I’m getting the hang of it and the flowers are flat until taped and assembled, which is good if your wedding is in a different state. It uses this basic technique, but blown up to 8″ circles, and shaped a bit more.

Are you considering an interesting backdrop for your ceremony or reception? What will it look like?

Thanks all! I was walking around Beverly Hills today (don’t worry, it’s just where the Paper Source is) and they had some of the flowers in the Chanel window. I got to see some in person (through glass).

I love it! Did you use the same basic technique for all the flowers? It looks like you have a few different types of flowers and different types of paper. Will you give a tutorial on how to make the flowers?

Fantastic! I can’t wait to see your results.
I have a mirrored wall (yea, you read that right) at our reception hall that I have to do something to. This could be a great solution for our garden themed wedding.
