Wedding Blog
Now that you have seen the bags we are using for our treat/candy bar, I wanted to share with you the things we have decided to include. As I mentioned in my bag blog, one of my bridesmaids’ moms has offered to spend the day baking with me a few days before the wedding to help create the candy/treat bar. I am so thrilled that I will get to spend the day with my BM and her mom and I know it will be relaxing and meaningful. I have been collecting ideas on what to include for months.
Here are the things that I know we will be making:
PROJECT: CANDY BARS
This is an easy project where we will just wrap Hershey chocolate bars.
WHAT WE NEED:

PROJECT: HEART BROWNIES

This project should be easy. We just need to make yummy brownies and cut them into heart shapes!
WHAT WE NEED:

PROJECT: RICE KRISPIES STICKS
Hopefully this will be easy!

PROJECT: CARMEL MARSHMALLOWS
I have never done this before, but I’m not sure how hard it will be. I think we can use regular marshmallows and coat them in caramel. It would be awesome with square marshmallows.

PROJECT: CANDY BUTTONS
When I saw this idea on Bake It Pretty I flipped out. I love it so much. I immediately went out and bought the candy molds. They were a great price! You can buy them here.)

PROJECT: CHOCOLATE COVERED PRETZELS
This is simple, but I thought they would be easy to throw in the bags.

I love the look of these. I know they are simple, but I thought they could be fun!

I would love to have some chocolate chip cookies in a jar to include! I thought we could make a big batch with yummy gourmet chips!

I thought this might not be too hard. But with ADORABLE mini cupcake holders, it could be perfect.

I feel so lucky that my BM’s mom offered to help with this. I know it will be a fun day before the wedding putting all of this together.

Everything looks like it will be SO TASTY! I’m looking forward to seeing the results of your candy button moulds. I loved it when I saw it on Bake it Pretty, too! I bought it a while ago but have yet to use it.

I’m bookmarking because I’m doing a candy/dessert bar at my wedding and I’m loving the heart brownie and the rice krispies, since it’s my fi’s favorite!
wow!!! those all look amazing! yum! i found a great and simple brownie recipe that’s great if you don’t want to use a mix from a box.
That’s going to be so fun putting it all together!! I can’t wait to see what you come up with.

Wow, so ambitious! I love pretty much everything you have included here and can’t wait to hear how it will all turn out! I bet it will be so delicious, although if you’re anything like me you’ll be on a sugar high when you make it all - I can’t help but taste stuff as I bake it!

one note: i think hershey’s has changed their packaging so it may be harder to find bars where there is the brown “sleeve” that can be removed from the foil wrapped bar (they are now just using one sheet to wrap the bar, and coloring the tips silver, cheap bastards).
You are very lucky to have offered the help! How exciting! Those looks like a pretty big assortments of candy and your guests will surely feel so spoiled. If I were at the wedding, i would head straight to this candy buffet and grab the adorable rice krispy sticks!

this is so great and oh my what a task! I am excited to plan our candy/treat bar for our guests..this is one thing that I know my FI will enjoy helping with (he has a rather large sweet tooth!)
That is going to look so good! the rice krispies treats look especially good! If you’re buying them pre-made, those big discount bulk stores sell boxes of them

I love that you went with a variety of things that you like, it’s actually a nice change from the ones I’ve seen before where everything is one color!
Good thing I made some chocolate chip cookies yesterday or I would have nothing at home to feed my fix after reading this 
Oh, that looks so yummy. My ‘maids may not know for certain yet, though I’m sure they suspect, that we’ll be doing something crafty the night before.
