Miss Ramen's Picture
Miss Ramen, Phoenix Age and Occupation: 26, Optometry Student Fiance's Age and Occupation: 23, Industrial Designer Engagement Date: January 3, 2009 Wedding Date: December 2009 Venue: Phoenix Art Museum About Me: I'm an SF-born, Seattle-raised girl, transplanted to Phoenix where I'll be getting married, and planning all the way from Orange County where I go to school (yes, it feels as crazy as it sounds). I loooooove Yogurtland, am slightly very obsessed with all things paper, am heavily addicted to wedding blogs, deeply desire a puppy, thoroughly enjoy cooking, cry when I watch (almost all) movies, thrive on solo car-karaoke, can't stop being sarcastic, am neurotic about taking pictures of almost everything I eat before I eat it, and aspire to travel the world. My super-talented fiance and I are attempting to DIY a majority of our massive (~350 guests) "clean & modern, yet romantic, but completely unexpected, with a teeny dash of vintage" wedding, stay within our not-so-massive budget, and somehow get a really luxe (but still fun!) look/feel at the same time. In music terms (since we're both really into music) think Coldplay meets Motown meets Kanye meets Sinatra.

Flower Girls…

September 14th, 2009 @ 11:27 am by Miss Ramen

I think if I could, I would have had a million flower girls. Okay, so more like 10 or so… I just LOOOOOVE kids (Mr. Ramen and I could not possibly ever exclude kids, because we love them so much!).

Most of our cousins are older than us, married, and have started families, leaving us with a bunch of sweet little baby cousins, the majority of which are super cute girls! And since I had spent so much time trying to find the best dresses for my lovely ladies, I couldn’t leave my little girls hangin’! I spent TONS of time looking online at the typical FG dresses, but I just wasn’t finding what I wanted…

So… once again, I hit up Nordstrom (hello, Nordstrom Visa). and stumbled upon this GORGEOUS little number by Biscotti in the spring season catalog… (*insert little gasps of delight here*)

Is this not the most PERFECT, beautiful little dress EVER?!?!?

It also came in a white, with pink-edged rosettes. Unfortunately, these dresses are now sold out… for good reason.

I quickly snagged a bunch, even before I knew who we would ask to be our flower girls. We finally decided to ask one little girl from each side of the family (the youngest, most age appropriate ones)… the oldest one will be 7 and will be wearing the white dress…. and the little one will be 3 and will wear the pink dress!

Every time I see these dresses I just squeal!!! I know… gross. But I’m dying because they are SO PERFECT and coordinate so well with our colors, the bridesmaid dresses, and the overall look and feel we wanted for the wedding - soft, romantic, and different! And did I mention how adorable they are?!?

I want one for myself (it is highly possible that I still have an extra one that I’m keeping for our future daughter. And she’ll wear it, even if it’s out of style. Mwahaha). Annnnd I’m totally going to ask our  photographers to take a million pictures of our sweet little flower girls, because they are sooo cute and these dresses are just going to bring out their sweetness even more.

(Wow, can you taste the estrogen yet?!?)

And what will my two sweet girlies be carrying down the aisle? More details coming soon!

Did you buy flower girl dresses from a non-traditional source? Where did you go to find them?

Those are precious! I turned the flower girl dress search over to my MOH, with the hopes that she would find something her precious two-year-old daughter could wear again. And she found a gorgeous lace dress in an ivory shade that will go perfectly with my dress!

Those dresses are adorable! Unfortunately, we do not have flowergirls in our wedding, not because we didn’t want them (we love kids, too) but we don’t know any! Sad, right?!

Love them! My flower girl is 9, so I am having trouble finding a dress that is a little more mature and less 4 year old. That would have been perfect.

Aw! They are so cute! I’ve been hunting Nordstrom too for FG dresses! SO cute! We’re going to have 3 FGs and 2 RBs. I sent everyone a email with a couple choices and my 5 year niece surprised me by picking the dress I didn’t think would be her favorite. =)
Like you I could never exclude kids from our wedding.

They’re sooo sooo cute! And pretty perfect - that’s definitely the epitomy of your theme in a flower girl dress! I will definitely be looking far and wide for my flower girl dresses!

I think they just restocked these dresses because I see them available online. Best of all, they’re on sale!

I love that you were so excited you bought the dresses before you even asked the girls! Ours were from Gymboree, and they were actually Easter dresses!

Ohhh this is just such an awesome FG dress! I have been holding off on purchasing one for mine (she is only 2 1/2 right now, she’ll be about 3 1/2 at the wedding…and I don’t know how much she is going to grow between now and then). I totally want to snatch that dress up! And, heck yes to the shiny Nordstrom card! I too have one in my wallet…and sadly I started using it as my main credit card so that I can get rewards points and get Nordstrom Notes! Addiction? Probably…

Pretty in pink! I love that dress. I didn’t actually select my FG dress. I basically gave my FSIL free reign on the style of dress. She has incredible style, so I knew whatever she chose would be perfect.

So sweet! I’m looking at alternative places too! Everytime I’m in a baby clothing store I keep my eye out, I found one stationery place on like that has a cute monogrammed dress taht fits with our nautical theme that I’ve been thinking of buying.

Those are adorable. Momma Moonbeam’s making the flower girl’s dresses, if we could just find some fabric.
