Like many of you, we too loved cakes A & D. We spent an hour or so in Photoshop trying to combine them and wouldn’t you know it.. we were left with cake C!

Mr. Sunbeam felt the off-centered lace pattern of the cake looked a little more modern, and I was a big fan of the flowers sprinkled around the cake. I was smitten by the fact that the cakes with the lace on the bottom tier very closely reflected the lace on my dress, and I also loved the petal shaped tier, which is why we didn’t lean towards your favorite, cake B.
I inquired about a slightly skinnier design, and Wendy Kromer sent back a few real life pictures of stacked cake forms to give me a better idea of what the cake will look like in real life (Photos taken by Wendy Kromer).
Cake from the sketch (with fake tier)
A skinnier option
We discussed the increased risks with a taller, thinner cake, so I while I looooved the second cake form, I was ready to accept the also beautiful, wider design. Like a true pro, Wendy wanted to make the thinner cake happen for me, and decided she could do some extra things to make the cake more secure! Yay!
So there you have it! Next time you see a picture of cake from me, it will be the REAL DEAL, assuming I don’t inhale it before someone can whip out a camera.
What shape are you choosing for your cake? Tall and skinny? Short and wide? One simple tier?
