Garters

September 15th, 2009 @ 2:39 pm by Mrs. Frozen Yogurt

Mr. Fro Yo does not want to do the garter toss, and I don’t care that much, so it looks like we will be forgoing that tradition. However, does that mean that I don’t get to wear one? I don’t need one as my something blue, as my blue shoes have that covered. But I still think it’s a fun tradition to wear a garter. I stumbled across these beauties from Bleu Garters, and now I want one even more.

Garters : wedding accessories 121 garter

Garters : wedding accessories 315 garter3

Garters : wedding accessories 218 garter2

Garters : wedding accessories 413 garter4

They are little pricey, though. Maybe an Etsy seller will have something comparable for much less. It’s worth a look.

Did you choose a unique garter? Where did you find it?

I purchased my custom set of garters (more info in a future post, I promise!) from Peterene on Etsy. Definitely try to work with someone to make what you have in mind for the right price!

Those are really pretty garters. I wore a University of Michigan garter as my “something blue” even though we weren’t doing the garter toss.

I came across Bleu Garters a while back somehow and I thought then that they were so pretty.

I think the first one is my favorite. Not sure yet if I’ll be wearing a garter.

If you had the patience, it probably wouldn’t be that hard to make one with some lace, beads and ribbon.

I love the lacey/ vintagey ones. We’re not doing a garter toss either, so I’m still debating on whether or not I’ll wear one.

Wow, those are very pretty. I especially like the 3rd one! We aren’t doing a garter goss either, but I did pick one up at Fredericks anyway. :-) Its more of a “surprise” for him, its black & leopard print!

Those are stunning. Try your nice fabric store in town, fussy-cut a small bit of lace and attach a nice ribbon. Fussy cut means intricately cut around the lace pattern.

I LOVE those. But would never have worn any of them because I know I’d be the bride hiking up her skirt all night to show off the garter… and I think i’d end up with some very embarrassing photos. ;-)

So beautiful! Never seen a garter could be that elegant. We didn’t do a garter toss as well but looking at these garter, I would probably wore one if it’s as pretty as these!

Those are really beautiful. Almost makes me want to reconsider wearing the one I got from a wedding when I was about 7 years old. I still have no idea how I came home with it, but it’s light blue and lacy and my sister and I used to wear it as a headband when we played dress up. It’s my something old and blue!

Have you checked out Florrie Mitten on Etsy?

I ordered mine from her and LOVE IT!
It kind of reminds me of the ones pictured about, but it was only $49.
