My Dog Ate My Program…

September 15th, 2009 @ 1:20 pm by Mrs. Cloud

In an attempt to get ahead on some wedding tasks, I decided to take advantage of a weekend off of work and get started on our programs. The cathedral we are getting married in has been pretty relaxed on most things, but the program is another story. It’s pretty non-negotiable; we were given a template of information that had to be included. A four page booklet, to be exact. I had already decided the design I wanted to go with, but had really been dreading sitting down to type it all up.

But, being a good little bride, I went ahead and started knocking it out. I stopped with about a page and a half to go, and mistakenly left the template we were given on the coffee table. The coffee table that our fur baby can easily reach. Who knew church paper tasted so good.

1

She’s not normally this destructive, I swear. She normally just plays hide and seek with things, but no… not this time!

2

She looks pretty innocent with that bed head face of hers… she would get in a lot more trouble if she wasn’t so darn cute!

3

All that’s left. Notice how ALL of the info I need from the last page is completely gone!

I wrote a very embarrassing email explaining the situation and why I only needed the last half to the cathedral coordinator. He was very helpful and understanding, and I hope he only laughed a little bit.

This is what I get when I try to tackle a big project. Did anyone else run into an unusual setback while trying to tackle some DIY??

Did you tell the coordinator “My dog ate my program?” ;-) Our church had some required paragraphs we had to incorporate into ours, but yours sounds much more strict!

Aww, I couldn’t be mad at that face at all. She’s adorable!! This is a good post though, my dog could potentially be guilty of the same thing. Now I’ll be sure to be careful.

Hahaha, this is my biggest fear. Kingsley was exiled from my craft room when I found out he ate a styrofoam bird. Thankfully it was not wedding-related. :)

What a cute dog. My BM’s dog, Hailey, gets very jealous of our DIY projects and always wants the attention on her! Oh our furry babies

So funny! I think you now need to be sure to include a little snippet about your fur baby in the program, if you’re listing people who couldn’t be there on the day….she must have been jealous and wanted to be included!

That’s so funny–”my dog ate my program!” When we were DIYing our invitations, one of our cats kept trying to lay down and sleep on the piles of paper!

I have a feeling that dogs may have issues with weddings. My foster dog, a feisty little dachshund (who is the polar opposite of my two Goldens) has a vendetta against tissue paper pom poms. He’s slayed at least 4 so far - the little bugger!

Puppy is adorable, you just can’t get mad. I’m DIYing so many items and with 2 crazy Boxers, it’s a hazard….I’ve come out of the bedroom to find 1 running around with my little pink paper squares in his mouth . These are what I need to make our oragami flowers, not so easy once they’ve been drooled on.

After I got married, my husband and I moved to an army base in Texas. We didn’t have a filing cabinet yet so we just put all his important paperwork on a desk. One morning we woke up and half of the paperwork was gone! The other half had chew marks ALL over them. It was awful. Our dog was in big trouble!

@Mrs. Penguin: Does Billie get a rediculous bed head face like Bella? She just got groomed, and I’m not sure with all that hair sticking up in her eyes how she even FOUND the program!!
@Mrs. Lovebird: @TCH: @Mick: She is actually a Lhasa Apso (just like Pengy’s baby Billie Jean!) A lot like a shihtzu, but us lhasa lovers will always be quick to point out the difference :)

I think it’s bizarre that your cathedral is so insistent on what you put in your programs! I can’t see why it mattes to them. As long as your priest/officiant/whatever knows what’s going on, and whoever is doing the music knows when to play, that should be fine! What you show to your guests seems like your affair!

And your dog is adorable, but you knew that. :-)
