Then I followed my beau out here to LA and we're getting settled in. I've been making things since I can remember. I was raised by crafters. I love to sew, draw, paint, build, cook, bake (anything with a tangible end result is fair game). In that same spirit, I've been hosting since I was old enough to cook and set a fancy table. I kind of take after my grandmother, who believes that your morning OJ always tastes better out of the good crystal.

Another Centerpiece Idea

September 16th, 2009 @ 12:18 pm by Mrs. Moonbeam

Another Centerpiece Idea : wedding diy Centerp Here’s a little collage I made in Photoshop to get an idea of what our centerpieces will be like. The weathered wood and teapot were just some images I found on the internet. The flowers and candle were pictures taken by me, and the doily image is from Martha.

I know my Grandma has a couple of silver tea sets, so I can get a good number of silver pieces from that. Weathered wood isn’t too hard to come by, and I’ll just find some doilies, get some candles, flowers and ribbons, add placecards and table numbers, and we’ll be all set.

Are you using any recycled materials in your centerpieces? What are they, and where are you getting them from?

that looks pretty cool! at the moment, i’m looking at using those starbucks frappacino bottles as the vases for my centerpieces. at least, that’s the idea. i even sourced a coworker who drinks these things so i can possibly get the bottles for free!

We are using old teapots. We scrounged around on ebay and the Salvation Army for them. We’re just putting them on the table directly though. I didn’t pay more than $10 for a coffee or tea pot, a less than $5 for the sugars/creamers.

We got our votives from Ikea.

For our 2nd reception in the US (for those who couldn’t travel to the wedding in Canada) I’ve been playing around with the idea of using old cans for our centerpieces. They’re really a pain to locate & transport though so we may end up just using mason jars. Recycling is so chic. lol
