Miss Frozen Yogurt, Dallas Age and Occupation: 28, Special Projects Coordinator Fiance's Age and Occupation: 26, Equity Trader Engagement Date: March 19, 2009 Wedding Date: April 2010 Venue: Marie Gabrielle, Dallas About Me: I was born and raised in Texas, and have lived in several of the cities across the state, but I currently reside in Austin. I went to college in Boston and have a special place in my heart for the Northeast. I love reading, shopping, wine, reuniting with college friends that are scattered across the country, reality TV, trying out new recipes, and attempting all the DIY projects that come along with wedding planning. I'm a "bleeding heart, save the world type" and thankfully my job allows me to work on legislation and policy to help out those in need. I met Mr. Frozen Yogurt in a bar, though he doesn't even drink! And now we are planning a modern yet vintage wedding in Dallas while dealing with the trials and tribulations of first time homeownership.

Bridesmaids’ Shoes

I love shoes. That’s obvious, but I don’t want to be demanding of my girls and tell them what shoes they should wear. But, I would LOVE if my girls wore brightly colored shoes with their dresses. And seriously, any color; I think it would look so cute! It would really make the grey dress look great! J.Crew has some amazing options, as you can see above.

Take a look at past bridal parties that did this that I found on Elizabeth Anne Designs:

Okay, they’re all basically wearing the same color in that second shot, but it’s still bright and gorgeous.

Don’t you just love it?

Are your bridesmaids wearing different colored shoes? How are you making sure that they’re varied, yet coordinated?

My girls wore silver, strappy sandals of their choice. Some chose super high heels, others did flats or kitten heels — some shoes were SO sparkly and others were more understated. It was a great way for each girl to show her style with a “set” look!

I let my pick there own. The dresses are long and no one will see the shoes anyway.

I love the different color shoes! :) My gals chose their own shoes, but they all chose black to go with their dresses. I love the idea of having a pop of color with the shoes though!

My ladies are wearing bright yellow dresses, so multi-colored shoes probably wouldn’t look great. I think we are going with navy!

mmm…I love how colors POP against grey! by choosing grey dresses, you are opening yourself up to so many opportunities, like fun multi-colored bridesmaid shoes!

I also lust after those J. Crew shoes (the pink and ivory pair matched my girls’ dresses to a tee), but they are so expensive :( depending on your girls’ budgets, I bet there are a ton of other colorful, bow-bedecked shoes out there for a lower price! the J. Crew beauties are good inspiration to start with.

jcrew shoes are so expensive. My maids would never go for it. I asked them to get a pair of $16 shoes from target and they are all complaining about the cost of those - one of them even refuses to buy them and is just going to borrow a pair of my shoes that are too big for her instead!

@BlushingBride530: They are expensive! Some of my girls already have brightly colored shoes, so I am happy to let them wear those. The other good thing is that since they were able to choose their own dresses, a lot of them got away with spending less than $100, which means maybe they can splurge on shoes??

I’m kinda liking the idea of a more casual BM dress being taken up a notch with fabulous shoes and other accessories! And I’m definitely loving the gray dress trend right now!

Oooh, I love JCrew shoes. You’re making me want to buy some for myself!

I also told my BMs to pick whatever shoe they liked and felt matched with the dress, we’ll see what they choose! I like the idea of them picking out shoes and accessories that express their personalities.

Do JCRew shoes fit odd sizes like wide feet? You might want to c onsider that if you have BM’s with hard to fit feet. You want BM’s with comfy feet.

Heck YES, mine are wearing the colors of fall - they are all in brown dresses and the shoes will be: yellow, orange, red, deep fall purple, and brown! I am so excited to see how it all turns out!

I let my BMs pick whatever shoe they wanted, as long as it looked nice with the dress. My sister ended up finding a nice pair of heels at DSW and told the other two, so now they all are wearing matching shoes. Ce la vie.

i like those yellow shoes! very nice. both weddings i’ve been in let us pick our own shoes, one in a certain color, the other whatever our hearts desired. i loved it since i got to show off a little bit of personality in my shoes. i’ll be extending the same thing to my ladies.

My girls can wear black shoes of any kind in our wedding. We have 2 colors, black and pool blue, and their dress will be blue and the shoes will be black. Perfectly coordinated! :)

I love the first picture!! My girls are wearing long dresses, so I just told them wear any shoe you want (heel, flat, flipflop, etc) as long as it’s black. So we’ll see what they come up with!

I’m letting my ‘maids pick whatever they want, but I have been hinting at some brighter colors for them. Love the first pic.

I love that you’re letting your girls chose their own dresses and shoes! Def allows for more re-wearable potential! Mine decided they all liked silver shoes, and one more flats, and the rest wore varying heights of heels that were flat, shiny, metallic, you name it! I liked that it let them show a little personality, but all coordinate with eachother.

Does anyone know which shoes those yellow ones are? I looked on jcrew’s website but I can’t find them - I thought they were the Carmen satin peep toes but they don’t come in yellow.

I’ve been searching for yellow shoes and those are perfect!

Actually… they’re all wearing the same shoes. They’re all wearing different dresses but all have the same shoes because I wanted some uniformity. But that’s a great idea.

Everyone is wearing black shoes, but their choice. One of my bridesmaids has a swelling problem and is self-conscious about her feet. We are wearing short dresses. She will probably wear ankle boots. Another bridesmaid is really into tall heels (she’s shorter than me, and I’m 5′0″), peep-toe style. I am excited to see what everyone picks out. :)

They can where whatever shoes they want, but they have to co-ordinate in some way. Either in color, or the style of shoe (peep toe, flat, etc)… I want something to make my girls “match”, but I’ll leave it up to them!

I told them they could wear any grey flats they want. I wanted some uniformity, but I didn’t want to make them all buy shoes they probably wouldn’t like.
