Mrs. Frozen Yogurt, Dallas Age and Occupation: 28, Special Projects Coordinator Fiance's Age and Occupation: 26, Equity Trader Engagement Date: March 19, 2009 Wedding Date: April 2010 Venue: Marie Gabrielle, Dallas About Me: I was born and raised in Texas, and have lived in several of the cities across the state, but I currently reside in Austin. I went to college in Boston and have a special place in my heart for the Northeast. I love reading, shopping, wine, reuniting with college friends that are scattered across the country, reality TV, trying out new recipes, and attempting all the DIY projects that come along with wedding planning. I'm a "bleeding heart, save the world type" and thankfully my job allows me to work on legislation and policy to help out those in need. I met Mr. Frozen Yogurt in a bar, though he doesn't even drink! And now we are planning a modern yet vintage wedding in Dallas while dealing with the trials and tribulations of first time homeownership.

Bridesmaids’ Shoes

I love shoes. That’s obvious, but I don’t want to be demanding of my girls and tell them what shoes they should wear. But, I would LOVE if my girls wore brightly colored shoes with their dresses. And seriously, any color; I think it would look so cute! It would really make the grey dress look great! J.Crew has some amazing options, as you can see above.

Take a look at past bridal parties that did this that I found on Elizabeth Anne Designs:

Bridesmaids’ Shoes : wedding shoes 219 bm shoe

Bridesmaids’ Shoes : wedding shoes 316 bm shoe1

Okay, they’re all basically wearing the same color in that second shot, but it’s still bright and gorgeous.

Don’t you just love it?

Are your bridesmaids wearing different colored shoes? How are you making sure that they’re varied, yet coordinated?

My girls wore silver, strappy sandals of their choice. Some chose super high heels, others did flats or kitten heels — some shoes were SO sparkly and others were more understated. It was a great way for each girl to show her style with a “set” look!

I let my pick there own. The dresses are long and no one will see the shoes anyway.

I love the different color shoes! :) My gals chose their own shoes, but they all chose black to go with their dresses. I love the idea of having a pop of color with the shoes though!

My ladies are wearing bright yellow dresses, so multi-colored shoes probably wouldn’t look great. I think we are going with navy!

mmm…I love how colors POP against grey! by choosing grey dresses, you are opening yourself up to so many opportunities, like fun multi-colored bridesmaid shoes!

I also lust after those J. Crew shoes (the pink and ivory pair matched my girls’ dresses to a tee), but they are so expensive :( depending on your girls’ budgets, I bet there are a ton of other colorful, bow-bedecked shoes out there for a lower price! the J. Crew beauties are good inspiration to start with.

jcrew shoes are so expensive. My maids would never go for it. I asked them to get a pair of $16 shoes from target and they are all complaining about the cost of those - one of them even refuses to buy them and is just going to borrow a pair of my shoes that are too big for her instead!

@BlushingBride530: They are expensive! Some of my girls already have brightly colored shoes, so I am happy to let them wear those. The other good thing is that since they were able to choose their own dresses, a lot of them got away with spending less than $100, which means maybe they can splurge on shoes??

I’m kinda liking the idea of a more casual BM dress being taken up a notch with fabulous shoes and other accessories! And I’m definitely loving the gray dress trend right now!

Oooh, I love JCrew shoes. You’re making me want to buy some for myself!

I also told my BMs to pick whatever shoe they liked and felt matched with the dress, we’ll see what they choose! I like the idea of them picking out shoes and accessories that express their personalities.

Do JCRew shoes fit odd sizes like wide feet? You might want to c onsider that if you have BM’s with hard to fit feet. You want BM’s with comfy feet.

Heck YES, mine are wearing the colors of fall - they are all in brown dresses and the shoes will be: yellow, orange, red, deep fall purple, and brown! I am so excited to see how it all turns out!
