I’m a Short Haired Bride

September 17th, 2009 @ 11:59 am by Mrs. Moonbeam

I'm a Short Haired Bride : wedding veil Stuff0

My neighbor cut my hair in exchange for some red velvet cupcakes and brownies. I’m a pretty decent baker, and she’s a beauty maven. Fair trade, right? So to jazz up my head at the wedding, I’m looking into birdcage veils.

These first two are from Etsy seller brendasbridalveils.

I'm a Short Haired Bride : wedding veil Veil 1

I'm a Short Haired Bride : wedding veil Veil 2
And this last one is a DIY bride who posted a tutorial on OnceWed.

I'm a Short Haired Bride : wedding veil Veil 3 I really want to make my own, but if I run out of time, it’s good to know there are options at the ever-awesome Etsy.

Short-haired brides: how are you wearing your hair for the wedding? Are you adding any accessories?

I’m a short hair bride!! Mine is just about chin lenght. I plan on curling it into a vintage wave. I also have a feather/rhinestone piece with a birdcage veil.

Short hair ROCKS!

I just bought the wedge birdcage veil from Brenda’s Bridal Veils, and I love it. I looked into making one on my own, but after a little research, I learned that the netting isn’t the easiest to track down (would likely have to buy it online and then end up paying lots of shipping for something like a half yard of fabric), and that the whole endeavor was going to cost me around $30 anyway (about what it would cost to just buy one from Brenda). So this was one DIY project I decided to forgo. Judging from your recent posts, however, you are far more crafty and resourceful than I am!

Love the short hair! I too am a short-haired bride, and finding inspiration photos is tough.

My hair is short, but not as short as your SUPER CUTE pixie cut :) I think a birdcage would loom great on you and I would like to take this opportunity to pimp out my buddy Mrs Sea Breeze! She made my veil and her own and many others. She is an absolute JOY to work with and just the sweetest person ever :)

I’m a short haired bride too! I love your new cut! I’m thinking about having some sort of embellished headband or clip in my hair, and maybe adding a birdcage veil for the ceremony. I love the way the veils look, but I don’t want to be in one all night. Knowing me I’d probably go to hug my father or brother-in-law and get my veil caught in their boutonniere!

Your hair looks great - a birdcage veil is the perfect idea! Making your own sounds like a great idea - but the 1st etsy one looks awesome, too!

YAY for short hair brides! Your hair cut rocks. I wore just a small hair flower I bought from etsy– it came in a group of three, but I’m short and i felt like one was enough– underneath it i makeshifted a more bridal look by scrunching some birdcage-like material underneath the flower and had my stylist pin the whole thing on together. It was great without being overwhelming.

I have that second one saved too! If my mom’s veil won’t work, that’s what I’m going with. And it would look GREAT with your super-cute hair cut. I’ve always wanted to be able to pull off the “pixie with funky glasses” look, but my face is waaaay too square for that. It looks great on you, though!

I wearing my hair down as usual (not much you can do with short hair in terms of styles) with a tulle birdcage veil and hair flower.

Love your hair BTW. Makes me want to go even shorter.

I actually bought the second veil from Brenda and it is super cute in person. Sadly I won’t be wearing it (my dress changed) but I’ll be posting it on the classifieds if anyone is interested.
