Okay, maybe not this kind of sexy! But I do think feathers are HOT!
Recently I started thinking about two things: what to wear for the boudoir pictures I plan to take for Mr. Poodle, and what to wear for our after party. Since I don’t have those kinds of sexy clothes in my closet, I started to search for ideas.
( This is one of those posts YOU CANNOT read if your name is Mr. Poodle! Muchas gracias amor! )
During my search, I stumbled upon this cute babydoll - what I liked the most about it? The polka dots!!! (Miss Star, I love polka dots, too!
) But the top is not really my thing, my friends will be way too exposed! LOL

Then I saw this “Ballerina” version! I loooved it! but I wanted polka dots so badly!

Luckily, I actually had the following fabrics in my house (I bought 2 meters of each for $3.00 on sale last year). So, I thought I would try to make my very first babydoll!

Today on my way home, I drew a little sketch and planned out how I was going to cut all the pieces, and how I was going to make the back, because I wanted to make this the easiest way possible.

{ The sketch I drew on the subway on the left, and on the right, the pieces for the bottom ruffles. }
After I measured how long I wanted the babydoll to be, I decided I wanted double fabric on the bust, to give more support and so I could feel a little more comfortable.

I was really happy that I actually planned out how to sew all the pieces, because it took me about 30 minutes to sew everything together!
Yay!
In the end I made three layers of ruffles on the bottom, which all turned into only one on the way to the top of the lingerie. I made some details to put on the cleavage area and sewed a black piece of ribbon to tie everything in the front.

{ The finished product!! Yay! }

I am so happy with the way this DIY babydoll turned out! Now I actually have something to wear for the pictures! (I do think I need more options, too.)
Here’s how it fits!
