Finding my wedding band has been quite an ordeal. As you may recall, I was into the idea of getting a white enamel band. I loved the idea so much. The problem is, as many of you said, enamel is fragile, but some are so darn pretty, like this one I showed you before from Martha Stewart Weddings:

I assumed if I went to the big wigs in the jewelry industry and spent a little more, I’d get a better quality, longer lasting ring, but when I went to Tiffany’s, the conversation didn’t get any less bleak. Enamel rings are simply not up for the job. I guess always knew this in the back of my mind, but I thought with determination it would happen. Well it won’t.
The hunt resumed and lingered. It was three weeks before the wedding, at that point, and we still had no ring. While we peeked into antique stores in the Marina, we came across Stuart Moore’s store. I hadn’t heard of him before. We went inside, and wouldn’t you know it, I found something fabulous, handmade, and so out of my price range it was ridiculous. The ring was a white gold band with diamonds on the side. This was the closest picture I could find, though the band was a full circle, nothing fancy like this one:

The diamonds on the side let my e-ring’s diamond sparkle alone, but also gave my ring some bling when my hand was just swinging along by my side - an angle where you wouldn’t see my e-ring’s stone. I asked what the price was if the diamonds went halfway around the ring, and it was still way to pricey. Sigh.
Later that night I was surfing the internet for a ring, and I came across another beauty from Tiffany’s. I thought, ‘Ooh, it’s just different enough that I could really like it!’ We went to Tiffany’s the next day and were told the ring had been discontinued, but the salesman had come across one in a drawer. It was two sizes too big, but I got to see it in person and liked it so much more. I called customer service and was told there was one last size five ring in that style in the US (if they have it overseas, they can’t sell it to you in the US - boo). She said that hhe chances of one single ring actually being in the warehouse was somewhat unlikely, but she’d put the order through and we’d cross our fingers. There she was, but would she be mine?

Two days passed and I woke up to an email that said, “YOUR RING HAS SHIPPED!” AHHHK! The following day I got a hysterical call from my mom saying she had opened my package to see the ring because she just couldn’t help herself! So it’s home, waiting for me, all safe and sound. I will have a wedding band for our wedding day, after all!
Did you have an epic journey trying to find your wedding band? Did you, like me, at some point wish your ring had come with a mate all along?
