Mrs. Chick's Picture
Mrs. Chick, Houston Age and Occupation: 28, Rights and Reproduction Manager Fiance's Age and Occupation: 29, Computer Programmer Engagement Date: November 15, 2008 Wedding Date: April 2010 Venue: A farm outside of Houston About Me: Mr. Chick and I met almost ten years ago at Baker Blues, a college jazz party. He was attracted to my intensity, and I was mesmerized by his trivia pursuit skills and his dorm furniture adorned with his initials. We've grown more sophisticated through the years, with our love of wine, owning a house together, and parenthood (of a cat), but we have not lost our silliness or childish sense of humor!

Dream, Dream, Dream

Here is a collection of inspirational photos for our farm wedding, courtesy of Green Wedding Shoes:

Dream, Dream, Dream : wedding decor photography reception 1 1

Even though we are not getting married on a vineyard, I would like to incorporate a wine theme into our wedding.

Dream, Dream, Dream : wedding decor photography reception 2 2

I love the idea of getting married under a big tree! It’s very romantic and dramatic!

Dream, Dream, Dream : wedding decor photography reception 5 5

I included these photos because I think that this a very clever way to dress up a modern barn. I love the contemporary aluminum roof contrasting with the vintage looking ribbons!

Are you considering a farm wedding? Are there any inspirational pictures or blogs you’d like to share?

Wow, those first few pictures remind me of Tuscany! (I miss it!)

Mr. Bruschetta joked we shoulda just done a DW to Tuscany and rented a villa. Maybe we can do that for a vow renewal at 10 years or something…? I’d love to blog about planning another big event!

we considered, but went an alternate route. I just wanted to throw in there that, although we didnt get married at a vineyard, our table numbers were bottles of wine with personalized labels that matched the palce cards, etc. People loved them!

I love how they used the ribbon wall to cover up that stage. It photographed so well with the chandelier in view too!

I love the first picture, with the tables in the middle of the trees - so unexpected and interesting! We’re having a farm wedding as well. We won’t be getting married in the barn, but dinner/dancing will be inside, with cocktails and other farm activities outside. http://ashinwi.wordpress.com/2009/07/09/wedding-inspiration-board/ Here is a link to my inspiration board if it might help!

Great inspiration, sounds like it’ll be a great event! Saw the photo of the custom wine labels and just wanted to recommend a company I use for all my custom labels. Bottle Your Brand does really good work and their labels are full color and waterproof and super easy to apply.

Good luck planning your wedding and congrats!

We are having our reception at a ranch/winery! We will be sitting outside and get to enjoy the beautiful scenery. I love the idea of using wine bottles as table numbers. Why didn’t I think of that?

I would have loved to have our reception at our close family friend’s farm but my dad said no daughter of his was getting married on a farm!! I think he was picturing somthing cheap and cheesy, but oh well!

@kmattso2: I got similar responses from our relatives, but I think the farm rustic theme is a new thing, so that’s why the older generation doesn’t get it!
