Mrs. Ramen, Phoenix Age and Occupation: 26, Optometry Student Fiance's Age and Occupation: 24, Industrial Designer Engagement Date: January 3, 2009 Wedding Date: December 19, 2009 Venue: Phoenix Art Museum About Me: I'm an SF-born, Seattle-raised girl, transplanted to Phoenix where I'll be getting married, and planning all the way from Orange County where I go to school (yes, it feels as crazy as it sounds). I loooooove Yogurtland, am slightly very obsessed with all things paper, am heavily addicted to wedding blogs, deeply desire a puppy, thoroughly enjoy cooking, cry when I watch (almost all) movies, thrive on solo car-karaoke, can't stop being sarcastic, am neurotic about taking pictures of almost everything I eat before I eat it, and aspire to travel the world. My super-talented fiance and I are attempting to DIY a majority of our massive (~350 guests) "clean & modern, yet romantic, but completely unexpected, with a teeny dash of vintage" wedding, stay within our not-so-massive budget, and somehow get a really luxe (but still fun!) look/feel at the same time. In music terms (since we're both really into music) think Coldplay meets Motown meets Kanye meets Sinatra.

The Nightmare(s) Before the Wedding

The Nightmare(s) Before the Wedding : wedding humor Bb

One of my good friends from AZ recently got married, and she used to tell me about all of the wedding nightmares she had. I laughed and thought it was cute and funny… until it happened to me. My nightmares aren’t horrific and don’t happen often, but they’ve involved such things as:

  1. I get rushed to the church to get married, only to find that I’m not wearing MY dress, the decorations are CRAP, the flowers are ugly, the programs aren’t finished… and I think I might have woken up from that one in a major panic, and started to fold flowers again. This is really my nightmare - that I won’t finish all my projects on time!
  2. Everyone RSVPs “NO” to the wedding, and we have to ask people off of the streets to come fill our reception…
  3. I’m marrying someone who is NOT Mr. Ramen. And I’ve never seen this guy before… this actually happened before I was engaged. I thought it was funny.

Those are the most recent ones… they make me sweat a little, but I know that they’re just nonsense. They sure motivate me to get my craft on!

That is a hard one. I dreamt that I was going to run away during my big day or I would actually faint during the ceremony. Luckily both did not happen.

After T and I first discussed us marrying, I remember having a nightmare where I was getting remarried (in a scene alot like the garden wedding in Sweet Home Alabama) and that I walked to the front and when the groom turned around it wasn’t T, it was my ex H and I ran and screamed and ran back up the aisle.

baaaad dream that one.

I dreamed that I missed the wedding, our bridal party didn’t show up, and our soloist would mess up.

Only the last thing happened!

I’m glad that I’m not alone with having wedding nightmares! Just last night I had a dream that I was being chased by robbers to steal my e-ring and it got lost in the chase. When I found it, some of the diamonds were missing.

I also had the exact same dream as you Miss. Ramen….I arrived to the wedding with the WRONG gown on and everything was a mess! I didn’t have my hair done and everyone was late ughh. I woke up in a panic!

I had one just last night. I was so busy during the wedding reception (checking on decorations, the DJ and such). I didn’t get to spend any time with my new husband. I will definitely make sure this does not happen on my wedding day!

I recently had one that it was the night of the rehearsal and I hadn’t gotten any decorations made for the wedding and we didn’t even reserve the place we were going to have the rehearsal dinner. I know I am a procrastinator but I won’t be this bad.

I’ve had a few wedding nightmares recently. The worst was the one where I was marrying someone else, a complete stranger. The good part about it was that I woke up so upset that I had married someone other than my fiance. Once I fully woke up, I took it as a good sign that I’ve found the right one to actually marry. :)

I had a dream that we didn’t take any posed pictures (us, parents, BMs, GMs). I didn’t realize until the reception was over, and the photographer had left. I was frantically trying to corral everyone so someone could take them with a personal camera. Hot mess!

I had a dream the other night that we were getting married but it was in another town, about 6 months early and nothing was done, and I got lost on the way to the ceremony, and it involved swimming and trying not to ruin my hair and all sorts of other nonsense occured. It was scary!!

I had several wedding stress dreams. In one, we had to get married in an auditorium that I had college classes in. In another, we had to use someone else’s decorations for our reception, so it was set up like a circus tent.

I had a bad dream involving missing programs, for some reason we didn’t have programs and it freaked me out in my dream, I actually woke up and made FI promise we won’t forget the programs.

I had a dream that no one showed up for our wedding. Oh boy! I hope that doesn’t happen for real!

Ugh, I have those dreams too! I also dream that people only show up for like 20 minutes, never dance, and it just turns into a middle-school basement nerd party.
