Hair Trials and Trials Again.

September 21st, 2009 @ 1:10 pm by Mrs. Sunbeam

Two Sundays ago I went for yet another hair trial. When I say another, I mean this will be my second of three hair trials. Yes, you heard me. Three hair trials, followed by the final ‘do. When I think about my wedding day hair I just don’t know what I want, and it’s worth the money to me to go in and find out what works and what doesn’t. This time I had gone to a Salon called Edo in San Francisco to have some fun with my hair.

I had brought along some inspiring up-do images that were loose and organic looking. Here’s what she came up with. A half down look that was shifted to one side (that Mr Sunbeam, trying out a new camera lens, didn’t realize was a finished look, but of course I liked it).

And all up.

That day I really liked the up-do, but now that I look at it I sort of feel too mature in it and love the half-down do that came in second place that day. Sheesh! What’s a girl to do? One thing I know for sure is that I love the faux bangs she gave me. I’ll bring these photos with me on Tuesday for my final trial before the big day with my actual hair dresser. Fingers crossed that it just keeps getting more fabulous.

Any other multiple hair trial gals out there? What helped you decide on your bridal hair? How can the decision be this hard!?

That updo is gorgeous! I am not a big fan of updos, but that is beautiful. Looks perfect on you.

I like the half down better - but I agree with Mrs. Peep, either way is beautiful! Love the color of your hair too, btw.

I really like the up-do too!!! I don’t think it looks too “mature” I think it looks very classy and elegant.

Your hair looks great both ways, but the down ‘do is super elegant in my opinion!

Maybe you can do updo for the ceremony, then half up for the reception? I love both!

Oh that’s hard! The updo is so beautiful & really shows off your features, but the half-up hairstyle is more relaxed & young.

I can’t decide. Both styles look great on you :)

I’m not help either, I really like them both… could you do both? Up for the ceremony, down for the reception?

Gorgeous! I can’t decide which I like better. With strapless dresses I feel less self conscious with my hair at least part down, so I’m tempted to say half down, but you pull off the all up look so nicely!

I agree that you should do both. I’m doing half down for the ceremony and switching to all up for the reception

Hmmm. I am not a huge fan of updos generally, but I actually like that style on you better! I think you look beautiful. I think it is so hard..right now I am planning on wearing it down, but who knows? I haven’t had a trial yet.

The updo is super pretty but I do agree with your opinion on the mature look. I just LOVE the 1/2 up, so pretty and flattering on you.

i like the half up-half down. i thought the same about the updo aging you a bit [i think i've been watching too much project runway!].

I say do as many trials as it takes to make you happy! I am a bit extrememe and believe it or not had 12 hair trials! you read right! the last 3 were with the stylist i ended up booking but just couldn’t get it right. but the first 9 were with 9 different stylists and everyone was worse than the next so bad i left every appointment crying (real sobbing) my family/friends/co-workers were ready to disown me! But the morning of the wedding it all came into place perfectly, and even though most would say i spent ridiculous money, in the end it was worth it! you only get one day and you should feel and look your absoloute best!
You look great with it up and half down so how ever you feel the best go for it!! Can’t wait to see how it all turns out!!

I love the “faux bangs” and I did something similar with my wedding hair, too. I actually really love the updo on you. Could you add some sort of clips or sparkles to it, so that you didn’t feel so mature in it? Either way, up or down, you’re going to look great!
