Wedding Day Part XII: Friends and Family Portrait Time!
After we took formal portraits with each and every one of our guests, it was time for some alone time with just me and Mr. Lovebird (and the two photographers and videographer, of course).
So while our guests were enjoying a lovely cocktail hour on the terrace with the mariachi band, we sneaked away for some pictures.
I won’t bombard you with our marital bliss, so here are some of our favorites!
Don’t you love fish eye lenses?
A fnny thing about this shot: our first shooter, Vincent, told us to climb over the ledge, as he said it would make a great shot. Though hesitant, we obliged. You probably can’t tell from the picture, but I was scared sh*tless of falling off the cliff and drowning (I can’t swim, let alone swim in a wedding dress). It didn’t help that hotel security was telling us to get off of there, since it was too dangerous.
There’s something about this shot I love, but I can’t put my finger on it. I’m pretty sure this was taken by our second shooter, Christian.
And of course, it wouldn’t be a beach wedding without the obligatory jumping shot!
Here’s a little tip: If you are planning to take bride and groom portraits during the cocktail hour, see if your caterer is willing to leave the two of you (and the photographers you are feeding) out of the head count for cocktail hour. Every little bit helps, right?
Of course, part of me wished we could have been two places at once so that we could’ve enjoyed the cocktail hour with our guests. I heard the hors d’oveures were delish and I didn’t get to try any! I wonder if cocktail hour was created for the sole purpose of allowing the bride and groom to have some “alone” time before the reception…
What are you and your new hubby/wifey planning on doing during your cocktail hour? And do try to keep the responses PG-13. *wink wink*
