Where Do We Go?

September 21st, 2009 @ 4:51 pm by Mrs. Cowboy Boot

This is a question we’re hoping our guests won’t have to ask as they’re making their way to our ceremony site or our reception location. Thanks to Mr. CB, who once again pulled out his skills, we now have signs that should hopefully point guests in the right direction.

SDC1014

Mr. CB found some scrap wood near his studio and used acrylic paint to write the words “wedding” and draw the arrows. Because acrylic paint will drip if it gets rained on, these signs still need a coat of polyurethane paint to make them weatherproof, especially since the Accuweather 15-day forecast has been threatening snow. We’re still so far out, I don’t expect it to be right (today it says 69 and sunny for our date). So who knows?

Did you make wedding signs? Did you use them at the road for driving directions or at your venue for seating directions?

Those signs are so rustic chic. Adorable!

Also, if rain is supposed to be good luck on your wedding day, imagine what snow will mean! You’ll probably win the lottery on your honeymoon or something.

Gotta love those oh-so-reliable weather forecasts. Still, snow could be beautiful! …as long as it doesn’t turn into a blizzard = transportation nightmare for guests. I’d imagine that you would get some to-die-for pictures out of a snow shower on your wedding day.

We will need to have several signs in order for our guests to not get lost. Getting married in an arbortum has its challenges!

Devil’s Thumb has such great signage … I think you’ll be fine with or without the signs.

Those signs point in opposite directions! Your guests will never find the wedding that way!

The digns look great! We will need one sign for practical purposes at the parking lot and I’d like to make a few more for decoration. My first attempt was with a piece of finished wood from IKEA but I think I need to find some scraps laying around for the look I want.

cute signs! My mom’s boyfriend offered to have two signs made for us “Ceremony” and “Reception” They were actually “burnt” into two huge pieces of light coloured wood. They looked beautiful!

No matter what the weather (snowy or sunny?) it looks like you’ll be prepared. :)

Snow or Sun? Those are two very different forecasts! I’m glad you’re feeling good about it either way! I used a stencil on one of those “election type signs” and made 4 signs since our parking areas were a little hidden. They seemed to work pretty well, only my Nana parked on the grass :)

We had a large sign along the road, and just arrows once you got there. The arrows were super simple: ribbon hot-glued to a cedar shingle.

So cute! I wanted signs like this, but for our venue they were completely unnecessary.
