By the time I was ready to get in the car and make the trip to Baltimore, MD for my bachelorette party, I was officially going stir crazy. I love surprises, but only as long as I am the one giving them, or if I’m at least in on it. I hate hate HATE not knowing what’s up. So it was a pretty big thing for me to have known something was coming since receiving that super cute invitation, but not knowing what to expect. The weekend couldn’t have come at a better time; after a stressful week I was ready to have a great time with my favorite ladies. And they really outdid themselves.
I was greeted by a hotel decorated with everything we would need to enjoy the weekend in style. And let me tell you, I was SURPRISED!!

WE HAD TICKETS TO THE RED SOX/BALTIMORE GAME!!! I was beyond excited! Normally Mr. Cloud and I make it to at least a few Red Sox games every year (we even got to go to game one of the World Series in 2007!), but due to the little money sucking thing we call a wedding, we have yet to go to even one this season. Besides being super excited, I was also downright shocked that everyone managed to keep the secret, because damn near everyone in my life knew, even the Mr., who is notorious for his big mouth!

We spent the evening in our awesome baseball tees (the backs said TEAM “NEW LAST NAME” 09!), drinking some tasty beverages first at the bar across the street, and then went on very excitedly to the ballpark. It’s no Fenway, but Camden Yards isn’t bad, especially when I got to show off the solved mystery of why I needed those white sneakers. We played nice with their mascot even though the Sox won, and finally took a picture with our favorite cotton candy guy!

After the game, another bar trip was needed with a full photo shoot, of course. Sunglasses were brought out because I decided that we were pretty bad ass, and as we all know, the sun never sets on a bad ass. Oh, and on the walk home, we had to stop and take even more pictures with random “art” structures. Everyone does that, right?

The next morning was just as fun, not only because there were more matching t-shirts (LOVE it!) but there was also a very yummy brunch involved (mmm Bloody Marys nom nom nom! Yeah, I took a picture because it was THAT good). Something I was not prepared for were the random screams of congratulations as we walked down the street. My lovely ladies would say thank you because I was oblivious they were talking to me for a while. Oh yeah, that’s right, my shirt says “Bride” and I am being followed buy a super hot mafia of ‘maids. I have no pictures of our the wonderful pedicures we had that afternoon though, as we needed to forget the cameras and instead nurse the hangovers to prepare for the night to come.

We got ourselves all dolled up for the night on the town. But as one last surprise, I got to open some very cute gifts from my girls. Knowing me as well as they do, and that my life revolves around eating yummy foods as much as possible, we had a delicious dinner with lots of wine and then hit the bars. I even ran into another bride-to-be who happened to be a reader! All weekend, people yelling, “hey bride!” at me were being ignored because I’m oblivious, but she said, “Miss Cloud” and got my attention right away! I didn’t even catch her name; I blame the wine, and the fact that I was excited to meet someone who shared some of my Weddingbee love! By last call I was a sad girl, as I did not want my weekend to be over (my fabulous cousin did not get the sad face for the picture memo however, ha ha!). It was such a great time, and I was not ready to go home!

I’m going to go ahead and put this on record saying last weekend will go down as one of the best of my entire life! All but two of my ‘maids (who were both incredibly missed!!) were able to make it and they all took time out of their crazy busy lives to spend my “last fling” with me. I am still overwhelmed by them and all their love and support. And of course, a HUGE shout out to my fabulous MOH who put her blood, sweat, and tears into planning the whole shebang. She is one crafty gal, and hopefully I will be recapping details of HER wedding in the not-too-distant future (hinthintcoughcough to her boyfriend!).
Okay, now I want to hear all about your last fling! Were you wild and crazy or tamer old ladies like us? Anyone else still overwhelmed by the love their friends dish out as the wedding gets closer?
